What patients say on Google

“My experience with Dr. Chapman was one of the most damaging periods of my life. I began treatment with her in my 20s, shortly after my father died from cancer, during a time when I was grieving and struggling to cope with a major loss. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and prescribed multiple psychiatric medications. Over the following years, I spent much of my life in a heavily sedated state. The effects were so significant that I have very little memory of that period. Instead of living my life, I felt as though I was simply existing through a haze of medications. Whenever I raised concerns about side effects, worsening functioning, or the impact the medications were having on my daily life, I felt dismissed. Rather than exploring whether my symptoms could have another explanation or reassessing my treatment plan, I was repeatedly encouraged to seek psychiatric hospitalization. It was only after leaving Dr. Chapman’s care, finding a new provider, and advocating for myself that things began to improve. I was eventually able to discontinue the medications and later received an autism diagnosis. That diagnosis provided a far more accurate framework for understanding many of the challenges I had experienced for most of my life. Today I am happier, healthier, and better able to understand myself than I was during the years I spent under Dr. Chapman’s treatment. What is difficult to accept is that I will never get those years back. Looking back, I wish my concerns had been taken more seriously and that a broader evaluation had been considered before years of treatment that ultimately did not help me. I would not recommend Dr. Chapman to anyone seeking a provider who listens carefully to patient concerns, takes medication side effects seriously, or is willing to reconsider a diagnosis when treatment is not producing the expected results.”

“I have been Dr. Chapman's patient for over 5 years. She has guided me through some of the darkest places in my life. She is patient, insightful, and really hears me and engages in helpful dialogue rather than nodding and pretending to listen. She is professional and honest.”

“Dr. Chapman is one of the most wonderful doctors I’ve ever had. She’s patient and she listens very intently. Her knowledge is extensive. I feel lucky to have such a great doctor!”

“I've waited a year to write this review. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience working with her. Her nurses are nice. I was seen at this office for about six months. I lost my job under her care because she refused to sign my loa paperwork without an appointment and surprise-there were never any emergency appointments available. My depression worsened under her care and the only thing they kept doing was increasing my antipsychotics. As many of you know adhd meds are not what they used to be. She tried 2 types of stimulants, told me that was it, and spent most of our appointments explaining just how and why she WOULDNT help me. I needed my dr to fight for me when I was ill and she swept me under the rug. If you're thinking about finding a new psych Dr and you may have emergencies, look elsewhere bc I spent the entire 6 months of my treatment on the waiting list, never to be seen early, not once. By the time I left her care my mental health was in shambles due to her negligence. She's not one of the good ones, keep looking. But the nurses are excellent. I've since found much more flexible care.”
