What patients say on Google
“Dr. Dorn has treated me for almost 12 years, and the reason I’ve been her patient for that long is simple: she's an excellent doctor, and she's just a wonderful human being. I wish I could give her 100 stars. Several years ago, when I was struggling financially, she reduced her rate for me for an extended period of time so that I could continue to get the care I needed. There have been so many occasions in the 12 years I’ve been her patient where she has seen me or spoken by phone on short notice (or even almost no notice), and this willingness to be as accommodating and available as she reasonably can be shows how committed she is to providing the highest quality medical care she can. This part of the modern Hippocratic Oath, “I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person’s family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick” aligns with her approach to mental health care. In the mental health space, I think a lot of providers do not focus enough on the effects of illness on the patient’s family and economic stability. But these are critical and very real aspects of mental health, and Dr. Dorn sees this whole picture and collaborates with her patients on their care and does so always with these collateral concerns in mind. The advantage with her practice is that she does not provide only medication management sessions, as I think many psychiatrists now do exclusively or near exclusively. Her approach allows for a medication(s) assessment and/or review and also plenty of time to talk in depth about how the patient life's is going and how the patient's presenting problem(s) impacts other areas of the patient's life (family, job, etc.). Medication is obviously a critical part of psychiatric care, but it's not the only significant and relevant consideration - and Dr. Dorn knows that. I have a very good life now, and the medical care I've received as her patient has had so much to do with that. Dr. Dorn truly has no higher calling than to alleviate suffering, and I would strongly suggest that anyone who is looking for a psychiatrist reach out to her to set up an appointment.”
“Did not follow up with my son after a major mental health issue. He had a required follow up appointment and she did not show up for the zoom. 24 days later, we received a letter in the mail - (no email or phone call which was the standard of correspondence for all previous communication.) Her office sent an express mail letter which we did not receive and was left at the post office and only found out about with the regularly mailed letter received 2/24) Did not speak truthfully (I have the hospital records of what was said & notes from our conversations) regarding certain issues to parent and mental health staff when son was in treatment. Have this all documented. I consider this abandonment of care since no communication prior to no show at the appointment. I also consider it ethically wrong to lie about things a patient has stated in a mental health situation. Dr. Dorn did not set up for a new doctor - only gave recommendations of other offices that we saw when we received the letter 24 days after the initial appointment was scheduled. We were scrambling to find new care quickly. On a side note, now that we have found new care, we realize the cost was exorbitant for the care received.”
“Dr. Dorn is a kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable psychiatrist that takes the time to really understand what's going on. She has saved my life, literally and I would definitely recommend her to anybody else looking for high quality help. If your serious about your mental health and understand that it's not just a simple journey to happiness - this is the place to come.”
“Dr. Dorn is a highly skilled and compassionate psychiatrist who is deeply committed to the well-being of her patients”
