What patients say on Google

“Awful. Some techs were helpful. But patient beware! They advertise weekly 1 on 1 therapy sessions but I only had 2-3 in a 13 week program! They operate as a scam. Their billing department then treats you like you owe money to the mafia! Extremely unprofessional. I signed up for auto billing and it didn’t even go through. Now I have a whopping bill out of nowhere due to their error. They call me at all odd hours 4x a day from spoofed numbers. IOP isn’t worth it unless you’re ready for it (it traumatized me) and your ready for loan sharks.”

“Predatory practices. My psychiatrist recommended an in-person IOP. Discovery Mood swore up and down that they could deliver on in-person after a few weeks of virtual (keep in mind virtual was specifically not recommended for me). They even had me go through with me sign a contract that promised such. Well weeks came and went and after collecting my money they informed me that I would not have a place in their in-person program after all and that I would only have virtual available. I parted ways with them as I found the virtual sessions to be painfully unhelpful and a complete waste of time. SINCE THEN, they fraudulently sent the remainder of what i “owed” to collections without so much as telling me that I owed money and so completely without my knowledge or consent. They have been a nightmare to deal with. I have been in and out of the hospital since first dealing with Discovery Mood and even still it remains one of the most stressful things I have had to deal with on the road to recovery. I highly advise going to elsewhere for your treatment. Best of luck!”

“Horrific. Went here a few years ago for PHP while dealing with severe CPTSD and left after less than a week. The classes were pointless like a high school health class and I never even met my individual therapist. Group therapy people barely got into anything deep or meaningful the “trigger warnings” really prevented this. We’re all there for real issues I feel like it should be understood there may be triggers so just get up and leave if it’s too much. According to other patients the therapist I was assigned was so terrible everyone complained and they sent her to work with the children instead (because that makes sense) and then she was being moved back to the adults. Staff was disorganized and barely qualified. There were issues with cleanliness too, ALWAYS dishes and art supplies from other groups that we as PHP patients had to clean up. I was so frustrated by the quality of groups and it was another patient who was almost done their 30 days that was also there for PTSD who advised me that if I want real help to go elsewhere. I left the next day. Will always be grateful to that guy . There are better programs out there.”

“I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Discovery Mood and Anxiety Group. From the beginning, scheduling and coordination were disorganized, and there was no consistent follow-up or clear point of contact. I specifically asked about costs before starting services and was told there would be no charges. However, after I discontinued services due to lack of progress and worsening of my daughter’s condition, I received a bill. After multiple follow-ups and emails, a staff member admitted that incorrect information had been given to me and that this was their mistake. This lack of accountability caused me significant stress, especially because I received multiple calls and messages with a negative and unprofessional tone, implying I owed money and pressuring me to pay. Their system for tracking cases and communication is extremely poor, and it is unclear who is responsible for a client’s care. Moreover, there was no meaningful improvement in my daughter’s condition. Overall, this experience was highly unprofessional and ethically concerning.”
