“My son visited Dr. Barnard his second time on July 24, 2025. Be aware of the office operation - the process left me both confused and frustrated. When we arrived, we were checked in without any disclosure of financial obligations and without confirmation of our insurance benefits. While the receptionist was still verifying coverage, the doctor rushed us in. The receptionist even attempted to inform the doctor that insurance confirmation was still pending, but this was either ignored or overlooked. The appointment itself lasted no more than five minutes. The doctor did not seem aware of the purpose of our visit and did not provide any meaningful service. Given that my son had already seen Patrick Hill on July 10, it is unclear why this follow‑up was scheduled so soon, especially when no new concerns were present. Only after the visit was I informed that I owed $255. The receptionist refused to acknowledge any error on the office’s part and simply repeated, “I’m sorry, I understand. You can pay later.” This response did nothing to address the underlying issue or explain how such a misunderstanding occurred. In August, I spoke with several people in LifeStance main office and had to repeat the situation multiple times. Eventually, I was told the charge would be adjusted to $85, but I still have not received a clear explanation of what happened or why the process unfolded this way. Better communication and coordination would have prevented this situation entirely. P.S. We got this message at 2:00 pm after our visit at 12. Still receiving the bills one year later.”
