“I give Deborah McKee 5 stars but LifeStance as a whole I would give 0 stars if I could. I updated my insurance the day before my appointment with Dr McKee and then the next day right after my appointment I got a call from her to contact the front office about non payment. I called and confirmed they had my new insurance information. The next day I checked my balance and it still showed a $260 balance. I called billing who confirmed my insurance was updated but the visit was never run through my insurance, they assured me it would be fixed. Saturday I logged in to confirm a therapy appointment with Stephanie Wells also 5 stars for her but was blocked from completing checking by the $260 erroneous balance. This caused me to not be able to have this critical appointment as I was experiencing a crisis. Stephanie deleted the appointment so I would not be charged as a no show which was great. But I was unable to access the help I needed because of the failure of the LifeStance automated checkin process that will block your appointments if they fail to process your claims properly. I should have a $0 copay as I’ve hit my out of pocket maximum for the year and even if I hadn’t my copay is 10% after I meet my deductible. I have lost all faith in LifeStance and filed formal complaints with the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General’s office as this has caused me even more mental distress. I love my providers but can’t see myself giving LifeStance another penny from myself or my insurance and will probably seek help elsewhere after I can get referrals. This has been a ridiculous experience for someone actively seeking help and I have always paid my copays when due.”
