How likely are you to recommend Cruz Clinic?
“Dr. Villegas was not only sexist, but was both mentally and emotionally abusive during our sessions. I reported to my primary care doctor as well. He repeated kept telling me that I didn't want to be diagnosed, (after repeatedly returning for multiple sessions on neuropsych testing that was suppose to be completed in one sitting.) I took multiple days off work to attend, he told me I didn't care about myself... after I was the one reaching out for help. I came into his office and after the third session, he blatantly said that I walked like I was anxious the first day and made him uncomfortable, when "all he was was welcoming". He had me take a fill out forms suited for children in elementary school being assessed for ADHD and I was told I needed outside people to assist in my diagnoses and fill out paperwork to tell him about my behaviors. I did so despite feeling extremely vulnerable publicizing mental health support... and the paperwork showed one thing and he said all the paperwork was wrong. My personal questionnaires, my third party paperwork, etc. Horrible experience. Hands down the worst psychiatric facility I've been to, do not recommend. Especially for someone who is struggling already and just looking for support. It made things significantly harder to move forward from.”
“I see a lot of mixed reviews so I wanted to add a non-biased and more recent one as I don't think anyone should have doubts about their therapy and certainly not about Cruz Clinic. -If you're going to Livonia, walk in the building and turn right. You're right there. No need for anxiety about finding the place. You just need your insurance card and drivers license. Optional, you may want a notepad or fidget device. Gum can help too! -The scheduling and front office staff has been some of the most helpful and pleasant I've ever dealt with. -If you have more detailed requests, I recommend sending them a note on the website first so they can look into it. That worked great for me when figuring out couples therapy options. Sheila is my hero. -The clinic just switched internal systems so that may be the reason for some of the negative reviews in the past about dropped/missed appointments. I have never had this issue. -Michael Foor is excellent and I highly recommend him to anyone. In my case he's been especially helpful in ADHD, anxiety, and relationship management. I feel like I'm talking to an old friend, we jumped RIGHT in. I've done a couple in-persons, but mostly telehealth from my PC at work. Very easy! -I got Ryan Hyun as a psychiatrist for medication. He's extremely understanding and willing to discuss different options to treat you. He even gave me a work number to text between appointments for quick notes. I highly recommend him as well. -As is well-known in therapy, sometimes you just have to jump around therapists to find who's right for you. Cruz has a lot of options you can review on their website. If it's your first time, it's ok to be nervous, but once you hit the door everything is easy and pleasant! They'll make you feel at home and answer any unknowns for you. Try bringing something to fidget with...stress ball, anxiety stone, fidget spinner. It helps! Final note: if it's cost that's keeping you from here - check with your insurance on Behavioral Cognitive Therapy. I had no idea what to expect, but my co-pay was only $20! I held off thinking they'd be $100s. I know even $20 isn't "free," but the help pays dividends in your future. Hope this gives you the boost you need to schedule your first appointment. You won't regret it. Good luck to you out there.”
“I had been coming here for years and I have always had issues with management and staff. The doctor i was seeing was incredible but the manager here have made me very uncomfortable. I don't want them having anything to do with my medical care. They are rude, not friendly at all and God forbid you don't know the medicine name or you do but they can't find it in your chart. The manager has made me feel for the LAST TIME like a drug addict because I take .5mg of Xanax. Staff if aweful!!!!! They couldn't even get my medical records to me in a timely manner. One time I called and the medical receptionist told me I'm mentally ill and need help. Well isn't that what this office is for? So rude. I can't stress that enough.”
“Been going here for years. All of a sudden, they are trying to send me to collections for a bill that I have been trying to get clarification on. I speak with Dani and she says she is going to do something and then never calls back. Time to find a new therapist. This place is awful. Quick Edit - Cruz called me to see what was going on. They had no notes of our conversations and when Dani called me back, she confused me with another patient and confused my balance and doctor with theirs. Just gets worse.”
