“Incredibly expensive and feels disingenuous. This is a bit of a rant: I was paired with someone who continuously tried to push unsolicited medical advice and wanted to argue with me about every single thing such as how I do laundry. If I'm coming for anxiety and stress, the last thing I need is to spend an hour on the brink of tears because I can't get you to listen to me or stay on topic for 5 seconds. "Have you considered getting rid of most your clothes so you have less laundry?" No because my health issues cause my weight to fluctuate so wildly I need clothes in 8 different sizes for every season. Then it was "why isn't your husband in Ozempic if he's overweight" as if they'd seen any of his blood tests or had any idea of his medical history. Every time I tried to change topics or get back to what I actually wanted to address it was an argument. I tried a few sessions to see if we were trying to push my outside of my comfort zone but it was truly just an issue of the therapist being more interested in their own thoughts and ways of doing things than listening to me or letting me speak. I don't feel good about trying therapy again after this experience.”
