What patients say on Google

“Some of the doctors at this clinic are very helpful! Dr. Greenberg is an extremely capable psychologist, and he will help you without a doubt. He taught me how to how to properly manage my symptoms and struggles, and to become independent. I also saw seeing Dr. Streb - she is also a wonderful psychiatrist that's quite skilled and knowledgeable. You may be wondering why I put 1 star for this review when so far I’ve shared nothing but praise. Well, as stated in many other reviews, I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion that this clinic prioritizes money over patient health. I have tried to be naive about this place, and give them the benefit of the doubt. But, I can no longer look past their mistreatment of me, no matter how great my providers have been. CPE has the most disorganized administrative staff I have ever encountered, and this is by far NOT my first rodeo with mental health services. If you want to get prescription medication, you’re better off at Safeway or Giant. Once, I scheduled an appointment online (three months in advance), only to receive an email WEEK OF saying that I needed to come in person. And since my psychiatrist wasn’t available in person, I needed to see another psychiatrist whom I’d never met before and had absolutely no connection to. Why on earth would a mentally ill patient trust a doctor whom they’d never met? Well, Dr. LaBellarte obviously didn’t seem to care about first impressions, as he made me wait 15 minutes into our session before actually going into the lobby to get me, was constantly checking messages on his phone saying he needed to respond to them, and treated me like a child because that’s all he’s trained in. I had to skip a college class (that I pay for) in order to attend a session that had been magically transformed into an in-person meeting (they just want people to come to their office so that they can charge them a fee for seeing a provider face to face). Are you thinking of using an FSA card to pay for your medical fees that your insurance doesn’t cover (because this clinic hates insurance and wants you to pay more)? Too bad. The admin staff will accidentally charge your credit card multiple times and act like you'd never requested to have a different card used. Have fun filing statements with your bank due to mistaken charges! Miss an appointment and need it made up so that you can get your prescription renewed? Too bad once again. You will attempt to communicate with the admin staff multiple times through email (if you call, you're put on hold and then sent to voicemail 90% of the time). They will ignore your explanations that no, you cannot show up to an appointment in the middle of work week, and that you can only meet with your provider online. Eventually, when you clarify enough times that you’re a human being with a busy schedule, you get completely ignored. It must be company policy to ignore patients that don't want to commute an hour (in the middle of the day) to a 15 minute appointment. So you're left with a dwindling supply of medication, you cannot reach out to your provider directly because the clinic doesn't provide their contact information, and your only options are to A) continue harassing ignorant admin staff, or B) quit your high dose of medication and go through intense withdrawals and illness. They don’t care about their patient health whatsoever if the patient isn’t pandering to their money-before-healthcare ideology. My departure from this clinic is imminent.”

“The office staff and nursing staff (Jennifer, Erin, and Beth) are great and helpful. Dr. Greenberg was extremely helpful helping me learn how to better parent my kid with his particular challenges. Dr. Labellarte is... interesting. Look, you're going to see some terrible reviews of him. He has too many patients. He's always about fifteen minutes late for appointments. He says really weird things in sessions sometimes. Occasionally I even told my kid to ignore things that he had said. But my kid and I did get used to him and realized that even with his oddness, he's a nice guy and he has a unique way of connecting with the kids. Depending on your kid! He is by no means for everyone. But you don't go to see Dr. Labellarte for therapy for your child. You go to see him for medications for your child, because he is a brilliant psychopharmacologist. I found this out by asking other psychiatrists I know. All I know is he was the third psychiatrist we tried for my kid and he nailed the meds right away. My kid has come a really long way, and couldn't have without the right combination of meds. For that I will always be grateful to Dr. L.”

“Dr. Labellarte is patronizing and stuck in the 1980s. I left after he straight up yelled at me and called me stupid and a drug addict for recreational cannabis use. Looking at reviews, it seems I am not the only one with this experience! He also was patronizing and insulting to me on multiple other occasions. Dr. Shank however, is a great therapist and person.”

“Dr Labellarte has gone the extra mile and beyond to help my nieces and nephew. He is a wonderful Dr and a very good man. I would recommend him to anyone. He has an excellent grasp of his vocation and puts his knowledge to the best use to help his patients. Thank you Dr L”
