“It's been a few years since I had sessions with Anya Surnitsky but, I was recently discussing my experience with some friends, and they encouraged me to file a complaint with the licensing body. I'm not going to go that route but I will leave my opinion as a warning. I don't know that Surnitsky wouldn't be a great match for some patients, but I wish she would actively decline child free patients. It was very clear to me that she simply cannot fathom or empathize with someone choosing not to have children. In one of our early sessions, she said something akin to "it must be really hard to find meaning in life without children". In later sessions, she lobbied hard for my wife to become her patient and, in retrospect, I wondered if it was to see if she could plant seeds of "baby fever" with her or sleuth out if our lifestyle was really a mutual choice. Please avoid this practitioner if you're child free -- I highly doubt you'll get anything more than the same normative pressures you get from the rest of society.”
