What patients say on Google

“I worked with Anthony Hughes for an extended period of time and initially found our sessions helpful in relation to trauma. Unfortunately, my experience changed significantly over time and ultimately led me to seek care elsewhere. On several occasions, sessions felt more like interrogations than therapeutic conversations. Rather than feeling supported while exploring concerns and questions, I often felt he became defensive. Therapy should be a space where clients can openly discuss their thoughts, concerns, and experiences without feeling as though they are being cross-examined. My final interactions were especially disappointing after I had made the decision to seek a second opinion for the psychiatrist I was also seeing at CDC Woodfield. The immediate session with Anthony started with “do you have something to tell me” and continued with false claims and threats of dropping me as a client. At times saying things like “strike one” and “maybe your just above my pay grade.” There were also multiple occasions where I felt professional boundaries became blurred and discussions shifted away from what I believed should be the focus of my treatment. Whether intentional or not, these interactions left me feeling that my concerns were being dismissed rather than explored. I understand that every therapist is not the right fit for every client, and others may have a different experience. However, trust, safety, and open communication are essential in a therapeutic relationship. Unfortunately, by the end of my time in treatment, those elements were no longer present for me, and I made the decision to continue my care elsewhere.”

“I have had wonderful experiences with both Dr. Jansen and Dr. Jezl over the past 10 years. Not only have they given me the tools I need to become the best version of myself, they also helped positively change my attitude on life, shift my daily thinking and promoted self-love! They work directly with children, adults, families, have great communication, and offer the most honest and trusting atmosphere. Highly recommended!”

“It’s been a while since I saw staff at CDCW but I did not appreciate the way my relationship with them ended. After my therapist left, I started seeing the new grad student that replaced my therapist at CDCW. The new grad student and I did not connect and I did not feel like they were going to be the best therapist for me. I requested to change. The CDCW responded by asking me to give that therapist another chance. And I gave them many more chances. Being in a space of my life where I had not yet learned to advocate for myself, this made me feel super weird that they asked this of me. When I again went back to them and requested again to change, the lady said she would get back to me and never did. I called and left a message for her maybe a week later. Called again a week after that and someone answered, took the message that I wanted to speak to the lady that I had been previously dealing with (I forget her name) and they said she’d call me back. She never did. The way this was handled was VERY unprofessional. Hopefully they have had some staffing changes since this occurred. But, at the time, I could not fathom how they would just ghost a client, a young woman that needed help. Only reason I gave them 2 stars is because my first therapist from there was incredible and I got very lucky with that pairing.”

“Would not recommend, tried scheduling a neuro psych appointment for my daughter. Told me they would get back to with a time and never got called back after repeated attempts to contact them.”
