How likely are you to recommend Counseling Center of West Michigan - Muskegon Campus?
What patients say on Google
“They have fake-nice staff that make scheduling difficult with endless back-and-forth emails after failing to send paperwork links, not acknowledging feedback, repeatedly asking for preferences and basic questions that were already answered, and so on. After a long wait for appointments, they sometimes cancel sessions at the last minute, making all that waiting pointless. Don’t waste your time here.”
“Had my first appointment this morning. I love the fact they were able to get me in quickly. Phones were a little long of a wait, but the person who answered was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately that is where it stops. Had my first appointment and my first impression was not that great. Provider came across as incredibly dismissive and send in prescriptions to the pharmacy for medications I asked my PCP to take me off of because they weren't working and I didn't like the way they made me feel. I have spent all day fielding those texts and cancelling those prescriptions because I stated multiple times that I don't want to go back on them. That was disregarded. I am unsure whether the provider is not feeling well or what was up, but there was constant rubbing of eyes, constant hands running through hair, and just not a good first impression overall. I understand off days, and I appreciate them just as much as the next person. But the whole hour feeling like I was rushed and being dismissed at every turn really left me feeling like it was a waste of my time and PTO I used for this appointment. I'm going to conclude by saying this: Not every doctor is going to mesh with every patient and this provider and I just did not jive. I only leave the review so others can know that if they experience dismissiveness, being rushed, or are prescribed medications they clearly say they don't want to take, they are not alone. Again, this could've been an off day, but it resulted in me leaving this review with a hope for this to be changed in the future so people feel comfortable seeking mental health services. My search continues!”

“Worst customer service ever! I have worked in customer service my entire working life. We live over an hour away from this facility and the traffic was terrible this morning. Yes, we should’ve left more time for our travel but we weren’t sure how long it would take. We ran around 15 minutes late for a four hour appointment, which I know is late. They would not take us would not even let us talk to a manager and said we had to pay $400 for a no-show fee. We have been using them for a couple years now and my child’s counselor is in our town. They have multiple locations. They say that we cannot use their services until we pay them for $400.00 which I am assuming at this point means that we cannot go to my child’s therapy any longer. We have never been late before and always pay our bills on time. The woman at the front desk did not even ask the doctor if they would still see my child. My question is what are they going to do for the next four hours? And knowing most of the time you wait in the room for a Dr longer than 10 minutes. Seems to me that somebody in a mental health facility at the front desk would be more empathetic and kind.”
