How likely are you to recommend Cornerstone Community Services?
“If I could give a zero I would. My sons starts counseling in October 2020, then ages 9 and 13. This was due to their father abducting them me through the Beaver County court. I continually had 50/50 legal custody, which means I share medical decisions. I was told by their father that this was safe place for the kids to talk without us and if they needed us, they would contact us. That made sense to me. I was so in my trauma of this stunned interaction, I agreed. I did not involve myself in their therapy. In September 2022, I felt this urge to go there. I was introduced to Jean Mountford, the records custodian. I did not tell her anything about my case but to introduce myself to their therapist. She had me fill out their records requests. A few days later, Jean call me and told me that because of the age of my older son, she wouldn’t be able to to send me the records. I started crying. She goes, “I know it’s hard. No child should be kept for his mother.” I was stunned! That was a very astute comment considering I didn’t tell her anything about our case. I finally was able to connect to Jill Slope, my youngest son’s therapist who had the only consistent therapist. I reached out to her after receiving the crazy therapy notes where father and stepmother (who has zero legal custody) are entirely involved in my son’s therapy for 2 years! I come along and there’s no apology from Jill, the manager Heather Foor or my ex as to why no one contacted me. Jill refused to answer any questions from my son’s time prior to me coming along. The same goes for Heather Foor. Why did no one contact me for 2 years? It was in our custody order that both parents to be named for all medical providers and the school. Both parents are to share decisions on the children's medical, educational, and religious aspects. The only answer I get from Cornerstone, is dad did not share information. For being mental health professionals, that could not understand why I was furious at them. They refused to discuss why they alienated from my sons' care. They had a copy of my custody order stating that I am to be involved with my sons’ care. I was medical professional and as such you are a mandated reported of abuse. They are mental health and they couldn't see that their dad was abusing me and manipulating our son. Cornerstone had all lawyer contact information and the Beaver County Courthouse information. Jill even told me that she supplied information to the lawyers. But I guess did not feel that was a good time to ask for my contact information. They should have denied care, as it was in violation of the custody order. It's also against of the Pennsylvania Guidelines to Best Practices in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. From October 2022, when I first was able to finally connect with them, not only did they deny any responsibility but Jill refused to let me have sessions with my son because despite her sloppy S.O.A.P notes, she continually denied father and stepmother were involved in therapy. In addition, any correspondence between her, father and stepmother was private. But when her and I would message, she would include father and say that it is "for transparency". Finally when moving my case to Somerset, I was able to removed my son from attending Cornerstone. I am a veteran with cPTSD and dealing with an alienation case, they could not have been more one-sided and heartless. They care about themselves, not anyone's mental health.”
