“Not a safe experience. At least the therapist that I had… NOT safe for someone dealing with more severe PTSD. One should not claim trauma-informed on their bio....Unless they understand that 1) PTSD healing requires attunement and relational safety (safe container), 2) that a dysregulated nervous system is not the same as people having "every day problems", and 3) that trauma living in the body is not some misaligned thought process. Mine couldn't handle big, feeling words… I was not intellectualizing to create feeling; I was trying to understand origin so my body didn't keep screaming at me. Thank goodness I already had a former long-term therapist in place out of state, who understands somatic and developmental trauma, and I was able to call her and get stabilized. Because it's destabilizing when you go into therapy and feel invalidated or even scolded for a feeling. I normally don't even bother to write reviews, but I don't want anyone else to experience this kind of misinformed therapist who claims to have knowledge of trauma. Trauma is somatic, (body) or developmental, and shaming one's thoughts is not only invalidating, but very damaging.”

“My first visit there was a train wreck, the lady at the front (older one) was very rude and didn’t even know how to read my insurance. She had me in a panic thinking my visit was going to cost me 270 dollars when I have a 15 dollar copay. On the next visit the same lady talked down at me when I had cash. I told her it’s because it helps me with my budget. After much thought and consideration, I decided to write this, in case others have been treated unjustly and need a voice. My therapist was fine, nothing of merit. However, when I was evaluated by the APN, I couldn’t believe the lack of empathy she showed toward me. After that and the lady and the front counter, I found another therapy center that actually has evaluated me in a professional, psychiatric way. Please advocate for yourself and do not let anyone treat you less than.”

“This is my second month of being unable to reach anyone to get an appointment or a refill. My pharmacy and I call for days to no answer and no call backs. They talk about how important it is not to go without your meds and then make it impossible to get them.”
