How likely are you to recommend Comprehensive Psychiatry/ Dr. Imran Akram?
What patients say on Google
“Dr. Akram is phenomenal. He is highly skilled and made my treatment plan incredibly clear from day one. What sets him apart is his ability to combine deep clinical expertise with genuine compassion. I felt heard, respected, and truly supported throughout the entire process. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone seeking thoughtful, top-tier psychiatric care.”
“Dr. Akram is the psychiatrist that people hope they'll get, not today's typical psychiatrist. Most will ask a few blanket questions, maybe tweak one thing before rushing you off the call or out the door, and hope for the best before they see you in two months as they cycle quickly through their appointments, leaving you feeling like a misunderstood cog in the psychopharmaceutical machine. In my experience of (yay, me!) being medicated most of my life for lasting depression and anxiety, it is supremely rare to find a psychiatrist in this day and age who delves into your life, speaks with empathy, is learned about every single medication you suggest or mention, and guides you to the right mix and blend with as many tweaks and adjustments it takes to get you to your best self. Dr. Akram is that doctor. I wish all my doctors met me with the mix of grace/empathy, relevant conversation, interest in my life, and desire to make me feel as functional and happy as I possibly can as I navigate ever-changing circumstances as a late 30's mom of two. Especially as a woman, in a field that remains male-dominated and leaves room for many crossed wires or lack of awareness, it is refreshing to have a doctor who truly gives a damn. My appointments are twenty minutes long, but they cover as much as an hour appointment due to his diligence. Cannot recommend enough. If I ever move away, I will be bereft in finding someone comparable. Thank you for all your help the last seven (?) years, Dr. Akram!”
“I've only had one appointment so far, but I've never felt so heard by a professional before today. Not once did he attempt to downplay or dismiss my issues, something I've increasingly gotten used to in health settings, that further lead me into belittling my own thoughts and feelings overtime. I could tell he was actively listening to what I was saying, and was able to swiftly connect dots in such a way that other doctors I've been to continuously failed to do. He assessed my mental health as a whole, instead of picking and choosing whatever issues he felt like dealing with, something else I've unfortunately grown accustomed to. His demeanor was also very inviting and bright, which helped me feel quite comfortable being open without the worry of receiving a look, a snide comment, or being misunderstood. Booking the appointment was very simple and quick, and they sent extremely helpful emails with some of the fastest response times I've ever experienced. I could honestly keep going about the positives, but I'll say Dr. Akram is evidently a very skilled, methodical, and supportive doctor, a needed positive change from the care I've received in the past.”
“In the last four years, Dr. Akram has provided valuable insight, and data points during tumultuous times to help improve overall well being. What I have appreciated is that his focus is not solely on medication management. He tends to focus on overall well being through modifications in social ecology moving towards overall well-being as a wife, mother, and overall professional. I have been able to overcome my perfectionism as a trait and condition using various strategies and a major factor in leading a balanced, moderate, peaceful and practical life. I have experienced an overall better functioning of limbic system under his care.”
