What patients say on Google

“My provider was great and not part of any of this, so they get a star, but I would give the rest of the practice zero stars if I could. I never leave reviews, but this place is atrocious. I should have listened to the other reviews before ever involving CMPS into my mental health. Their billing staff is extremely incompetent and has no idea what they’re doing, and neither does their parent company’s (Optum) patient advocacy department. My insurance benefits state that OP Behavioral/mental Health has zero copay and zero cost, and can be picky about who I see due to it being employer insurance. Due to this the network is very small. I found CMPS in November of 2024 on my insurance portal’s network website, and my provider was listed as in-network. I called both my insurance and CMPS prior to being seen to ensure that there would not be an issue. I was assured multiple times by both that they were in-network and that I was good to go. After my first appointment with this company theur billing department called my WORK phone number on a Friday after I’d already left the office to say that there is an issue with my insurance and to call them back. They never contacted my preferred number, my cell. I called them back and was advised I was OON, and that there would be a bill. I argued with the girl for probably 30 minutes before giving up and deciding to get my insurance involved. Insurance again states I am in network and there will not be a bill. Cool. I called back to tell them to duke this out with my insurance company and went to my second appointment. Afterwards I still felt like there would be an issue due to how the billing department handled the first appointment. I found a new provider at a different practice who I LOVE, and have been seeing them since with absolutely zero issue. I did not hear even a whisper from CMPS for over a YEAR (13 months!) until I randomly got a text in December of 2025 that my bills were ready to view and be paid, but these bills were allegedly processed shortly after my visits. These bills again stated I was OON, but that an “insurance discount” was applied so that instead of almost $1,100 total I only owed just under $300 total for both visits. I immediately called my insurance who agreed that these visits were incorrectly billed and that I owe nothing, but they could do nothing on their end beyond send CMPS a request to review and re-submit due to how long they took to send me the bill. As of April of 2026, they still have not responded to my insurance’s request, then had the incredible audacity to send one of the two bills to collections. When I called I was advised to call their parent company, Optum Behavioral Health, and speak with their patient advocate department. This department is just as incompetent as billing, as they also deemed the bills “valid” but then said I was in-network on a different insurance tier and that’s why I got the bills, but again this is incorrect. I suspect they simply contacted CMPS’s billing department and did not take a comprehensive review of the issue, where they absolutely would have found the mistake as well. This company has caused incredible distress in my life over the past few months, and I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. The funny part is, I began seeing CMPS due to the extreme depression and anxiety I experience because of managing finances in the wake of an event that was out of my control that changed my financial situation, and now they’re contributing to the issue. Insane! I keep hitting brick walls every direction I turn to get this cleared up due to how long these losers took to send me a bill. I have to wonder if this is on purpose! I’m considering contacting a lawyer because that seems like at this point that might the only thing that can get this fixed. If you care even the tiniest amount about your own mental health, stay far, FAR away from this grossly incompetent company.”

“Since it appears my other review disappeared, I’ll repost: I was not told when they lost their contract with my insurer. I was not billed for these “uninsured” services until over a year later and suddenly had a surprise $2000 bill. Calls and attempts to resolve the bill have been ignored. The “owner” responded to my last review stating I should contact “the patient experience team” but when I called the number provided no one had heard of the Patient Experience Team.”

“I was happy with my doctor, until I felt micromanaged with my meds. Meds I have been on 20 years.. if that’s not bad enough.. the girl Amy, has a condescending attitude, constantly interrupts.. actually does not listen because she is worried about her own agenda I wanted to discuss the rotten message she left on my machine, she tried to say she was on vacation? What? Did you hear me? I could go on with her bad attitude.. I kept asking how do I reach a supervisor to report her all she did was talk over me .She had the nerve to call back Again I kept repeating I want to know how to reach her supervisor She refused to answer only stating, “im willing to talk”. That ship sailed. Told her I don’t want to talk to her, I’m hanging up And I heard her giggling when I hung up THIS IS NOT ONLY RUDE AND UNACCEPTABLE It ruins the reputation and relationship between client and care giver. Well played Amy… I hope you never get treated the way you treat others, you are a disgrace to healthcare Update: Haven’t had to deal with Amy recently, don’t know if she’s still there. They recently followed up on a referral and I’m just very happy with how this is working. It did take some time, I’m partly to blame. But that is part of my anxiety. I was looking at other facilities. All good now, better than good. Not going anywhere”

“AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! If I could give Zero stars I would. My doctor moved from an in person practice to this crap when COVID hit and his partner retired. When I first started, he was doing his own scheduling it was great. Fast forward 3 months after that, I was told I had to go thru the scheduling department, that was practically non existent. I finally get appointments set up and instead of billing my insurance, which I knew was valid and active, the charged my credit card on file $250 a session. They legit maxed out my card without even batting an eye. Since I never used that card, I didn’t realize what was happening. When I finally noticed what was going on, I called over and over and over, no one answered and if they did they had no answers. I contacted my insurance company they too had a hard time getting in touch with anyone at that office. Save your mental health by avoiding these people all together. Find somewhere that actually cares about their patients and no just about money. Now it’s too late for me to do anything about it and I’m still paying my credit card off because of them. Don’t do it to yourself.”
