“would have given 0 stars if i could. What a joke. So i was sent here from the disability rights in Howell. I had an intake, and also a in person visit with Ken Harrington. and his supervisor. I was informed from another worker that i would not be able to receive services because i did not have a severe enough psychotic disorder. I was wondering PTSD, anxiety, depression, etc not psychotic enough. Must to have more issues. Well here is a funny thing went for a eval and was told in letter that therapy would be helpful. So then im told its because i dont have medicaid. Once again because i make $202.20 over the annual limit. which is about $13.48 a month over. So once again our government agencies at its finest. God bless us all.”

“This location of CMH does the best they can with what they have. If you need help and really want to change they can help you. The occasional bad experience should not define the work these people do, which is good work.”

“Biggest joke I've seen. They earned their 2 stars that's for damn sure. I've seen everything from the Dr mixing up my chart and trying to prescribe me lithium for SOMEONE Else's bipolar disorder to being but on SEVEN different medications at once and not sleeping for months. I'm currently in the ER because the Dr didn't fill out the prior auth in time before they closed for the weekend. They said call the emergency line at cmh. their emergency line at CMh "doesn't have emergency personnel on staff" and would "call me back sometime this weekend" but to go to urgent care. Urgent care Dr said she can't prescribe mental health meds and to go to ER. So now I'm sitting in the ER waiting to see if my mental health meds are "medically necessary" to be filled by the ER. This was my LAST STRAW with this place. Please do not waste your time. Unless u want to be neglected and overlooked as well as ignored and well as drugged do NOT go here at all costs. I was only listened to enough to ask if I was "in crisis" and since the answer was always no I remained overlooked. CMH is a joke.”

“Trying to get your child help is like pulling teeth from an alligator. I wish Livingston County had a better option other than this place. They pretend to care, but in reality that is far from the truth. I feel as if I am playing mental gymnastics by jumping through hoops as they point the finger saying the juvenile court, CPS, or MDHHS is where I need to turn to get my son what he needs. They literally say one thing, yet do another. Consistency does not exist at this point when it comes to any employee. My son needs long term facility care and CMH repeatedly refuses to help him. I have worked my way up the chain of command and even the executive director has failed my son and my family. Even though my child has tried to murder me, has assaulted 3 out of 4 family members, verbally threatened all our lives, kicked a police chief in the privates, and ran away countless times; it isn’t severe enough for CMH to consider him a high priority for long term care. I am told the same thing over and over which is “try the Wrap Around Program, MST, or other community resource's”. At this point, I honestly feel if my son severely injures or unalives one of us, CMH would still think short term psychiatric hospitals would still be the right fit for my son. He is not allowed back at Harbor Oaks, nor Pinerest due to his severe aggressive behaviors, unwillingness to cooperate, and for assaulting other peers during his short term stays. I have lost all hope of CMH ever helping my son get the proper mental health treatment he truly needs and deserves. All I keep hearing is “the system is broken” from hospital social workers, the juvenile justice system, and tons of local, county, and state police officers.”
