How likely are you to recommend Collaborative Counseling & Psychiatry?
What patients say on Google
“I’ve been seeing Dr. McNally & Dr. Gara for medication management and therapy for close to five years now. Dr. McNally is incredibly understanding, listens carefully, and works with YOU to find the best medication regiment that will alleviate your symptoms. Over the years, we have had to change medications and it was as smooth as can be. It’s rare these days to find a provider who has the time to actually listen and formulate a game plan that works for both provider and patient. Dr. McNally has made my life inherently better by finding the best fit for my needs. As a result, I have been able to finally thrive mentally and physically. Dr. Gara is phenomenal from a therapy perspective. He has a plethora of experience and truly takes the time to listen. Then, he works with you as a patient to break down everything and give you the tools to help navigate life/situations in a healthier way. As someone with major medical PTSD, I am typically a tough patient to treat. I have trouble trusting many medical professionals after what I’ve personally endured. Dr. McNally and Dr. Gara have stood by my side through thick and thin, good and bad. I consider it a privilege to be able to be seen and treated by them. If you’ve been looking for a psychiatrist and psychologist who actually take the time to know YOU as a patient and actually listen, I highly recommend Dr. McNally & Dr. Gara. They’ve improved my life in so many ways. I am forever indebted and I’m thankful to have them as part of my care team.”
“This place is absolutely AMAZING! The ladies at the front desk as well as the doctors are perfect for anybody going through mental illness and even more. In addition, Isabelle was FANTASTIC! She returned my call as soon as possible and was so nice. I highly recommend people speaking to Isabelle! Suck a great community and couldn’t ask for a better experience!”
“This facility - psychiatrist and therapist included - did not help my child. In fact, I found the staff to be condescending and pretty much incompetent. It turns out my child has TRD and won’t respond to most antidepressants. This facility, like many others, just throws meds at kids and hopes they’ll work. When I objected to starting my 11-year-old on Lexapro for depression, the therapist argued that it was totally appropriate for that age. A quick Google search will tell you otherwise. When I went there, it was also extremely difficult to get reception to answer the phone or call you back.”
“I will start by saying that I have been seeing / speaking with Dr. McNally since probably 2017-2018, and Dr. McNally since at least 2023, so it is fair to say I have been a long term client. Dr. McNally and Dr. Gara have both been not only true professionals to me, but have treated me with nothing should of dignity and kindness beyond what one would expect from a doctor's office, or any business. They both have shown sympathy with me, and have even discussed their own similar struggles in life, which is the exact kind of humanizing care I need. They don't treat me as a burden or as "just another client," though strictly speaking in business terms, I am. Both have gone out of their way, at least in their business, to accommodate my schedule, moves, and struggles over the years. Even their office has been kind enough to work with me in creating payment plans that perhaps aren't always to their benefit, but has allowed me to not let cost at a single moment alone be restrictive of my ability to receive their care. I would note this is likely due to being a long standing client, but seeing that degree of flexibility in the business world is harder and harder to find, no matter who you are and what your business relationship is. I won't say my time with Dr. McNally and Dr. Gara has always been perfect, but that is in part because they have always been honest with me, even if I wasn't yet ready for such honesty. It is for this I have an even higher degree of respect for Dr. McNally and Dr. Gara. They have always focused on how to move forward in the future and not ruminate in the past, and that alone has led me to believe what they say about me is true and draw strength from that, even if I am not strong enough at the time to believe it myself. Their practice has changed over the years, and of course I could probably cherry pick moments I preferred things done one way or another. But I truly believe they are as invested in my well being as they can be, while not sacrificing their own well-being in the process (something I would find wholly unacceptable). I am not going to say they will be the perfect psychologist and psychiatrist for everyone, because one of the things I've learned over my journeys is that it also up to the client to find the right doctors that not only work with you, but what they say resonates with you. Dr. McNally and Dr. Gara have been the right doctors for me, and that's led to me remaining their patients, even when I now live over 2.5 hours away. I would just add that as someone who has receiving care from numerous doctors since age 13, it takes time to build a relationship with a psychologist and psychiatrist (from my experience often 3-6 months at least), before any mental health doctor can start tailoring their care to what best fits for you, based on the relationship and knowledge they have developed about you and your various situations. So while not clicking on the first couple of meetings may mean the fit isn't there, the client does need to be open and allow time and put forth effort to create any truly successful doctor-client relationship. In short, don't give up seeking care just because it doesn't go the way you expected or your first few meetings aren't as productive as you hoped--consider them laying the foundation upon which a more structurally sound version of yourself can be built upon. I highly recommend Collaborative Counseling, Dr. McNally, and Dr. Gara for those seeking help, and would recommend anyone struggling to give their office a fair chance to help-- I know I did, and I am still here and the life I have is possible in part because of their help.”
