What patients say on Google

“I absolutely despised every day I knew I’d have to walk in here. I went here for 5+ years, as I was kinda forced to at first because it was the only place that would see me as a minor. It’s a continuous, non-stop cycle of residents coming in and out, and no one takes adequate notes or documents the meds you’ve been on. Half the things THEY prescribed me they claimed I’ve never been on. Dr. Jafferany is terrible. I’ll be seeing whatever resident they have at any given time, we’ll come up with a plan after talking for 30+ minutes. They’ll go grab Dr. Jafferany to go over everything, he’ll come in for 5 mins at absolute MOST and try to change EVERYTHING in that span of time. The second he leaves, any given resident at the time looks appalled and verifies with me I just want to go with the plan we originally came up with together and completely ignore what Dr. Jafferany said. It’s ridiculous. He likes to act like he knows absolutely everything about me because he saw me for 15 mins once or twice in the week I’d spend at White Pine as a minor YEARS ago, and I only went 3 or 4 times, again, YEARS ago. They refuse to prescribe anything but SSRI’s and mood stabilizers I’ve already tried and wanted countless unnecessary tests to try anything for my diagnosed ADHD. I felt I was never listened to and treated like the child I was when I first walked in all those years ago. I got sick of it. I haven’t been there in a few months now and am receiving care and Spravato treatments at Serenity in Auburn. I HIGHLY recommend them to the fullest extent. They really tuned my life around and I don’t feel like that damaged kid anymore. I feel like soon I’ll finally be able to hold a job, which CMU was never concerned with, and also really screwed me over filing for SSI and I was ultimately denied because of them according to the judge. I’m almost grateful for their lack of competence at this point now though, I’ll say. If it weren’t for their years of terrible service and non-empathy, I wouldn’t have gone to Serenity! If anyone here has been on countless meds and various treatments and haven’t found relief, instead of upping your dose that’s already knocking you out 24/7 like this place will do.. check out Serenity! Even if you’re not interested in Spravato, their psychiatrists are absolutely phenomenal and have brought back my faith in psychiatric services and healthcare as a whole. I actually look forward to speaking with my psychiatrist now! Avoid this place if you can!”

“Everyone here is friendly enough - but I never really felt seen, I felt like an amalgamation of symptoms, none of which had any real explanation or treatment - half of which were completely ignored, and I was told there was nothing they could do to help me...nothing quite like being a psych patient being asked to wait months between therapy sessions, not changing any meds when something isn't working, just continuing to up dosages - They gave me a will to live, and I hate them for it...a will to live isn't enough, you need to be able to stop us from breaking again, you can't just play jenga with our pieces”
