“I found Dr Ahmed's behavior was rude, judgmental and dismissive of my concerns. He never actually performed any professional screenings of my conditions, he just assumed what was wrong with me based off a few 5-10 min discussions once every few months. I struggled for 5 years. I am now seeing a new provider who gave me a very extensive screening, and we discovered I have idiopathic hypersomnia alongside delayed sleep-wake phase disorder, and now, I'm finally on medications that help me both function during the day and sleep at night. I finally feel like a normal, functioning human. With Dr Ahmed, I was just loaded up with several different sedatives that had several side effects and made my daytime executive function worse. When I told him about my struggles with brain fog, daytime exhaustion, inability to focus, he just said "Everyone is on stimulants. I can't prescribe them to you. I don't know what to do with you anymore." He also rudely told me during our last visit that I should not have accepted a promotion at my job if I struggle to focus during the day. And that was that. I am very proud of my promotion, and I deserved it and worked hard for it.”
