How likely are you to recommend ClearVista Behavioral Hospital?
What patients say on Google
“Sally and her whole team are more than capable of running this facility. Some of the older reviews might hold some truth, but the issues are definitely being sorted out in real time. You know what they say, be the change you want to see. Everyone in the building deserves some kind of reward, patients and staff included. Thank you for helping me in my time of need. It's all Love.”
“Extremely difficult to talk or visit loved ones, especially compared to other facilities. Some floors have a single phone for the entire floor to have to share, in this instance 34 residents. If you want to visit you better schedule something a day or two in advance at least since there’s a set amount of visitors for the entire building. Not that there’s generally say in where you end up but the facility in Elyria regularly had same day walk in appointments for visiting and two phones for 15 patients.”
“I'm here to talk about Out patient Therapy. First of all let me give a HUGE shout out to the best therapist i ever had! Ms. Justine !! She literally changed my life in so many ways ! She was kind , soft spoken , listened without judgement, made me feel safe , heard , and loved! She touched on different topics everyday was something different! it's crazy because sometimes it was exactly what i needed to hear ! I highly recommend group therapy! It was so hard for me to leave and get discharged today . But i know if i need to come back i will be welcomed with open arms !”
“Let me tell you about my visit to clear vista behavioral hospital. I was experiencing a stress related breakdown/panic attack due to life circumstance one night and went to the hospital where i was prescribed Haldol, the Haldol gave me a symptom called Akathisia (one of the worst things you could ever experience). On Friday night I was pink slipped due to it and ended up at clear vista. My first feeling when I got to my room was one of complete dread. You are forced to share a room with someone else. And the rooms were filled them to capacity so there was pretty much no room changes even after someone else’s roommate spent all night screaming and staring at him. There was no toilet paper even after asking 6 separate times to get some. The staff kept telling me to either ask someone else or I was told that someone already restocked it in my room (they never did). Almost every night I was there there was a man outside in the hallway screaming all night long. The staff didn’t do a thing about it. That same gentleman was in a violent altercation with another man their every single day I was there. Each time the staff didnt stop it or do anything besides try to talk to him. The providers are cold, uncaring and incompetent. They’re salary employees so most of them leave as soon as they talk to all of their patients of which they try to do as quickly as possible. Not a single medical provider understood what Akathisia was. They were far more focused on my bipolar 2 (which I wasn’t even there for) which was at that time effectively treated on a different medication. A medication they refused to give me and in fact told me it was a horrible medication to be on because they thought it was a different medication. They put me on Lithium. A medication that gave me some of the worst side effects I’ve ever had on any medications. It took me a month to ween myself off of with terrible withdrawal symptoms. As of now I’m back on the medication I was on to start with and am doing way better. I only saw a therapist for 10 minutes the entire time I was there. When they asked me to sign in to the hospital voluntarily after my pink slip was up and I refused, they then threatened to take me to court and potentially hold me up to 4 weeks AFTER the provider medically cleared me. My parents visited me multiple times and brought up my concerns with the staff. The staff responded by telling my parents that I was lying and making it up. Then they had someone try to suggest that I be put into a group home for substance abuse because, they thought I was a different patient and didn’t even bother to ask my parents who they were here to see in a waiting room full of 2 people. Lastly the nurses and staff treated us horribly. Some of them were constantly aggressive and agitated. They would hang up the phone on people asking for updates on the patients. Actively ignored the phone. And they would get into verbal altercations with the patients. I asked multiple times what medications they were giving me and they never told me what the medications were or what they did. I could not give clear vista a lower review. This place should be condemned and the staff and providers should have their licenses stripped from them. Places like this are why people don’t seek help for mental health issues. The fact I had to give them a cent of my money pains me more than anything else in this whole situation. Do not go to clear vista”
