How likely are you to recommend Choptank Community Health System: Chestertown Health Center?
“When i went for my initial appointment the ladies i saw were great! I got put back on medicine that i had been on in the past, that i never should have stopped taking in the first place- I've been back on the medication for about a month now, but about a week ago, i ran out. I called last week to request a prescription refill & was told that it was sent to my doctor to review- I took into consideration that the doctors office would be closed for the weekend and for Memorial Day, but when I called my pharmacy on Tuesday, my prescription still hadn’t been sent in! That’s fine, things happen! So I called Choptank again and the receptionist apologized, said they would list the prescription refill as “urgent” & that it would be sent to the pharmacy by the end of that day, even still I gave them extra time & called back the pharmacy on the following afternoon, on Wednesday- still, they didn’t have my prescription, I repeated the same procedure and called choptank back, & let them know and they told me they would send my doctor, ANOTHER message, but would add “urgent” to it- and I gave them extra time again & called my pharmacy, again, on Friday- nothing. I called Choptank again, this time a little more sternly- and the lady apologized again, & said she would sent yet, ANOTHER note to the doctor, & told me “not to worry, because she SOMETIMES checks it on the weekends”- I told the receptionist that it was “a little ridiculous that this was happening & that I’ve never had to wait this long for a prescription refill before” & she told me she “completely understands” & apologized, yet again. This medication isn’t something that you should allow your body to adapt to, only to stop randomly- especially due to medical negligence. I’ve always gone to Choptank, & have always had somewhat decent experiences- but this is unacceptable.”
“this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a firm. I have ADHD, and have been stable on my medication for five years. getting my prescription filled on time is a nightmare every month. if you call a week in advance? you had to call the day of. if you call the day of? well, then you should have called in advance! if you do both? they claim they'll do it, then just straight-up DON'T! it's an insult to my time, my intelligence, and my life. i had to call off of work today and the next because they couldn't do the bare minimum of writing my prescription slip. don't bother with this place if you have any behavioral medications that you are supposed to take daily. you will regret it. my heart goes out to anyone else experiencing this; you are NOT the problem. I promise.”
“Love my doctor, hate everything else about this place. My feeling is that they have so loaded down the medical staff with patient load that it's impossible for the doctor to actually treat and handle patients on a timely basis. It can take a week or more to get an answer through the portal or to respond to a prescription request.”
“This place redefines incompetency on an annual basis. Every year I go there with an insurance form to fill out (I only go there once a year). And every year they either lose it, or have some excuse why it never got filled out. This year I went 2 months ahead of time and gave them THREE identical forms already filled out so they had no excuse to lose it. I waited in the room for 4 hours with the lights off. 3 weeks before the form is due I contacted them on their patient portal and they assured me that it would get done on time. 2 days before it's due I called them and they were giving me getting the two step saying "it will get done on time". The day before it's due I went in and waited 45 minutes before they finally admitted that they had lost ALL three of them! So they sat there and filled one out. I had to inspect it twice!! They didn't even fill it out correctly!! 3 trips and 8 hours of my life gone this supposed "competent Doctor's office" finally completes a form that I could have done myself less than 8 minutes. Just to be perfectly clear- this form has basic information, height, weight, glucose, cholesterol, BASIC INFORMATION and it was all wrong. I'm at a loss as to how they're even in business.”
