“Dr. Okwara was amazing! She was the psychiatrist being shadowed by the resident I was seeing (which just shows you that she's talented if they want someone else to be like her). She worked well with the resident and worked well with me. I had several thoughts, concerns, and ideas, and she was so incredibly patient and helpful. I don't always feel like physicians hear me, but she (and the resident) both took the time to ask the right questions, get full answers, and come up with a well rounded plan that made everyone happy (well... as happy as you can be at the psychiatrist I suppose)”

“After meeting Dr Okwara today, I realized how bad she wanted to imposed her believes and morals on me. I suffer anxiety and for her I'm just playing dumb. I think is dangerous when service provider's personal opinions interfere with patient best interests. We are a smart population, we want to do things right and in the best interests of us, I don't really care about her personal morale.”

“Horrible! She did not listen to my concerns and tried to give me the same meds that I had explained DID NOT HELP with my anxiety. She refused to prescribe even a weeks worth of sedatives or tranquilizers to try and blatantly lied and said the only way to treat anxiety is with antidepressants, therapy, or check myself into the mental hospital! All I wanted was some one who would listen and NOT give me the same treatment that I have explicitly said never worked! Her response was that I haven't tried all of the anti depressants! OMG! I have been through 5 of those and none of them works, so you're telling me I should just keep trying??? Forget that! BTW, I also think the deck was stacked against me anyway because I am white. Edit: so happy to say I've finally found a competent doctor that believes in prescribing actual medication made for anxiety. I've been on a tranquilizer 3x a day and it has turned my life around! I wouldn't go to Scott and White today for anything even of you paid me. When the Brindley's left, all care and concern for a patient's wellbeing has gone out the window. They would have fired that awful "psychiatrist" for her lack of basic concern and psychological knowledge.”
