What patients say on Google
“If I could give this place negative 5 stars, I would. This is a money hungry facility who doesn’t care for the wellbeing of any of their patients. They didn’t have any psychologists on staff, just psychiatrists. Psychiatrists job is to prescribe you medicine, psychologists are therapists. We did absolutely nothing therapy related during group therapy. The nurse staff pressured me into taking an antipsychotic medicine when I didn’t want to. The medicine was used to treat bipolar disorder when I don’t have bipolar disorder. I had to explain to doctor Ghanta Ramesh what borderline personality disorder even was! Ramesh tried to diagnose me as bipolar as well, when he doesn’t have the credentials to do so. During my evaluation the nurse threatened to send me to Eastern State Hospital if I didn’t voluntarily admit myself to Bourbon Behavioral Health. During my skin assessment the door was not closed, so anyone could’ve seen me naked if they walked by. Once I was in the behavioral ward a patient started being perverted to me, and nurses did absolutely nothing about it besides tell him not to come near me. He still came near me and was intimidating me from across the hallways and listening to my conversations. There was also a patient there trying to get ahold of metal objects to make a weapon! The staff rarely checks the security cameras and would check on the patients every 30 minutes at best. When they assured me they were checking on us every 15 minutes. The nurses threatened me with a 72 hour hold if I asked to leave too much. Since I was voluntarily admitted I had the right to leave at any time. They refused me leaving by saying it was up to doctor Ramesh, despite my papers saying I was self admitted. All this facility does is give you pills and leaves you alone otherwise. They prescribed my roommate medicine she wasn’t comfortable taking. When I was getting sick from the side effects of the medication they put me on, they wanted to give me another pill. It takes hours to fall asleep after being out of the facility due to the medicine they gave me. They wouldn’t let me have a therapy session with my therapist. Their excuse was “that’s why we have psychiatrists” despite psychiatrists not being trained therapists. They wouldn’t let people talk to me when they would call, I had to call out. They got angry and rude with my boyfriend when he called me 2 times in a row because the staff wouldn’t let him talk to me. Dr. Ramesh purposely got my abusive ex boyfriend and my boyfriend mixed up to keep me in the facility longer. Ramesh also kept telling me I was suicidal when I never was to keep me there longer. If you want to better your mental health, DO NOT GO HERE!! This place exploits people who don’t know any better by drugging them up and babysitting them to cover their asses so they don’t get sued.”
“I have had three weeks away from this place and I wanted to go ahead and review this place especially given the circumstances of my recovery afterwards. -VA is outdoing you all, how, and why? -Medication I was placed on was entirely way too strong and there was a lot of it. -When talking about my diagnosis with the doctor I was ignored. I don't have bipolar disorder and yet again its in my paperwork because I was an angry and sad "woman". -I know y'all don't come across genderfluid people often, but maybe read something so that when someone says "Any pronouns" you don't look at them with abject confusion. I honestly had to revert to "she/her" will be fine. -Doctors have an air of misogyny and you cannot change my mind about that. Masculine presenting folks got 20-40 minutes of time with the doctor, but all feminine presenting folks got 15 minutes max. All femme presenting folks would come out in tears. I was mansplained my own mental health. Like, I literally go to college for this, yes anxiety and depression make you forgetful, but so do a myriad of other diagnoses. -The techs. There are some amazing techs who are excellent. There are others I wouldn't trust to pour pee out of a boot.”
“They were way to pushy about people who didn't feel good. They always kept us trapped in the rooms longer than intended then we have the fact people get hungry easily but when they fall asleep it's a "problem" and "must be reported to the doctor" just because we don't want other people knowing our issues. I hated this place and they relate themselves to the ridge when they haven't heard how bad it is. The ridge has kids die unlike them and that was like 5 people died while my friend's brother was there. One of them happened to be a 5-year old kids with schizophrenia”
“I was admitted for depression and anxiety, the place is absolutely amazing. They really do help. Although it can be boring, it does in fact help you think about what you're supposed to be working on (yourself). They make sure their job is done when you leave. I'm glad that I was admitted and got the help I really needed. I really do recommend it for anyone having any issues. The nurses are amazing, and so is the social worker is a very sweet lady. I love them all ”
