What patients say on Google

“If I could give this place a zero star rating I would because it is the worst place to be. Don't put your loved ones in there! I know it looks nice but it is a severely isolated lockdown atmosphere. No music, nothing to watch on TV that doesn't even work, nothing to do all day. People posing as social workers and psychiatrists who actually are not licensed for those titles. Lack of humanity. They treat people like they are animals. Not even that good. This is the worst place you could be or put a loved one to be. If they're not already insane, they will be after being there for a few days. The food is AWFUL and you cannot get any of your needs met. You have basically access to water and a bed. But they don't have enough people employed to take care of the crazy atmosphere of neglect when there's a lot of people that need attention and help. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Did I mention this place was terrible?! I wouldn't put my worst enemy in there. I have reported them to the State of Missouri department of health as well as other local and state agencies. This place needs to be inspected immediately. It looks good on the outside but the operations on the inside are horrendous.”

“It should be illegal. I was kept on a hold. I never once met the doctor who decided to hold me. There was zero talk therapy, which is why I reached our. You just sit there staring at the wall. The "social workers" actually told me that I made a big mistake reaching out for care because apparently Missouri does not require the health care providers to show anything. Anyways here I am about a year removed, no better off than I was then. I just don't engage anyone anymore. It always falls back to the almighty dollar. This place and the people in it do not care. The night shift just cursed at patients and watched their phones. 1 patient threatened everybody else including hitting 2 women and threatened to kill me. One night I was awakened by an elderly woman naked trying to get into my bed. I reported it and they did not care. If you care about your loved ones, do not send them here.”
Matt Hardy
“My family and I were initially optimistic when my mother was admitted to this facility. Her case worker, Debbie, was very kind in the beginning and took the time to listen to our concerns. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. We were given a number to call with any issues, yet no one ever answers the phone. My family made repeated attempts to check on our mother’s status. Yesterday alone, my sister called 17 times before finally reaching someone. That level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable for a behavioral health facility. After days of trying to contact Debbie with no success, I had to go onto their website and submit a written request just to get a call back. When Debbie finally responded, she simply reiterated that my mother was being discharged—without any family meeting, no proper discharge planning, and absolutely no discussion about her safety or aftercare. We were told that because my mother is an adult and can make her own decisions, we essentially have no say. As a family, we are left in the dark, worried, and completely unsupported. The lack of communication, planning, and basic transparency at this facility is deeply concerning. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend the Center for Behavioral Health in Maryland Heights.”
Rachelle Anderson
“The staff is a cut above other psychiatric facilities in town. I felt actual caring in a challenging environment that is populated by mentally-ill people/substance abusers, etc.”
Keith Klamer
