How likely are you to recommend Catawba Mental Health Center?
“We initially used this agency through the school however after months of being ignored by the school based therapist, who thought scrolling on her phone while my daughter was pouring her heart out was a good idea, we decided to switch therapists within the same center. We ended up with the supervisor and thought we were in good hands. We were wrong. I understand being late to appointments a few minutes, no big deal. Even 10 to 15 minutes is acceptable. We received a reminder for 4:00 p.m. appointment. She did not send out the link for us to join until 4:30 p.m. When I told her we would be cancelling services, she simply asked with the agency or with her then proceeded to close our file. No apology, no reason for her tardiness, no accountability. There's a reason why this place has such low stars. Avoid wasting your time. They literally could care less.”
“They will have someone call you back and argue with you regarding coming out and doing an assessment in a crisis situation. Which I don’t understand because they offer MOBILE CRISIS SERVICES! They don’t care because they’re state workers and don’t get paid what they should. Which is sad because when people need assistance we suffer because of it. Please if you can go to Charlotte, NC. It’s a 30min drive but they have way better care for mental health emergencies for children. They’re ranked top 10.”
“I'm very unhappy with the service at this place. I came to this facility because my son needs. A new therapist and psychiatrist and they were supposed to set me up with someone. We had the intake appointment with the intake person, nobody ever got back with me. His behavior is escalating and he has severe emotional and behavioral issues and he needs to be seen ASAP. They set me up with an appointment with the same intake guy, and then we come in today and he tells me that if I want my insurance to cover it, he cannot see him because he's not under insurance. Why didn't they tell me this? Now I'm going to get a bill for non covered services because this facility failed to communicate with me. He needs help and I need help and now I'm back to square one all over again.”
“They are rude and unprofessional. Instead of talking to u, they talk down to u.. I understand that it is a budget-help place but people with mental health don't need this kind of treatment. It only makes them run away from treatment and continue to go unhelped until something happens. I know about this 1st hand.. The state S.C. government should be doing something about the state-funded place's treatment of the public and how they are being helped. It's bad when the supervisors even give a negative attitude. I know the government isn't responsible for most things but it's on the state to make sure the programs are being run correctly and actually helping we the people”
