What patients say on Google
“In regard to Collins Springs, same parent company: Breaking all Civil Rights and Patients Rights laws. Here are the bulletpoints in chronological order: 03/28 -ROI signed to me and put on file -Intake evaluation findings requested, legally required within 12hrs of patient arrival to validate retention: unable to be located. -Mention legal necessity for intake evaluation to be completed, berated by Shaune Freeman who says "it was completed, your statement is invalid" -Terminate call with Mr. Freeman and speak to the patient, Mr. Freeman can be heard verbally attacking the patient from down the hallway of the unit. Definitely the right behavior for a mental health clinic. -Go to clinic in person, after call to visit patient. Arrive 5 minutes in to visiting hours. Receptionist Victoria "we can't let you see him, visiting hours are almost over" come to find out visiting hours hadn't even started yet due to the juvenile side running 30 minutes long during their visits. -Ask for copy the intake evaluation, Victoria "I can't find an ROI for you", me "get someone who can verify it, they've verified it's on file". Victoria "Shaune can you come to the front desk" Shaune "he'll have to wait" (are we starting to see a pattern) -4 hours spent at facility on the phone with law enforcement to attempt to force the hand of the facility, unfortunately the governing bodies are all closed on weekends. 4 hours, nothing to show for it. 03/29 -Visit facility again, speak to House Supervisor Q (receptive to my needs, honestly trying to help I believe) and a female intake employee (name forgotten) Intake "patient will be released today unless doctor sees a reason for patient to stay longer" -1 hr later: patient will be held until they can see a judge in 24-48 hours -Records again requested, speak to facility director Melba, who says she'll have Regina (medical records) print me a copy -1hr elapsed, nothing -Q comes back out and says Dr. Butler (attending psychiatrist) informed her it's a HIPAA violation to release any records while patient is still checked-in (not factual and a breach of patient rights) -Return to desk and smug Victoria states "there's nothing else I can do for you" in response to any further questions/requests. -Formal complaint made the the oversight body below, detailing the above information and violations. Still no records or proof of intake evaluation received and now being denied any records access despite having an ROI. *13x total requests, made to 8 different employees, for proof/copy of intake evaluation to justify patient retention. *Lied to when legally requesting records (in itself constitutes malpractice and bad faith in care) *Blackballed from access to patient in retaliation for citing laws not being adhered to. *Patient roomed with violent, unpredictable, and unrestrained roommate with no choice in the matter. Shaune, Victoria, and Dr. Butler should not be employed anywhere remotely resembling a place with such need for compassion and decency. Now to decide between a civil rights or malpractice attorney. You had your chance to admit your mistake and make it right, Collin Springs.”
“The Adolescent program is amazing, however once transitioned to Adult program it is literally just hearing people complain for 4 hours with no one making progress. The therapist was enabling spiritual psychosis and I left within a week because of how deeply unhealthy and unhelpful the program is.”
“Matthew is an inexperienced therapist who cannot manage highly emotional older teens. From what I observed, he’s done better with middle school kids. I was one of his first patients, so it was clear that he lacked experience to provide adequate support for my situation. In addition, prior to my discharge, I had eloped twice (whoops!) However, I was never informed that a second elopement would result in discharge. The treatment team made this decision without communicating it to me. I was ultimately discharged without warning and without being offered alternative resources or follow-up support. The treatment I received here was useless and actively unhelpful. I left feeling abandoned rather than supported, and months later I am still no better than when I first started. - Naomi Awoke”
“Met with Annette Today and the Changes Staff! It is wonderful to see people working with kids that have such loving passion. The facility does a great job of balancing safety, independence, and support! I felt welcomed by all the staff and even TED the team mascot. They have truly thought out of the box and strive daily to meet the ever changing needs of kiddos and their families. Annette was a Joy and such a key part of the team! I loved the information and will continue to refer families to CHANGES FRISCO for great service and exceptional care!”
