What patients say on Google

“I was a patient since I was about 17-18. I followed over from the previous practice to her private practice. In the beginning and for most of the 9-10 years things were pretty decent and I felt like I was getting help. My last 3 sessions I'd say I started to feel dissatisfied. Mainly because it seemed less about helping me and more of a money thing. One session needed to transfer funds from savings to checking to pay and seemed like I could only get a hello until I paid. Another time, I'm used to getting paid early didn't get paid on time and was scheduled for an appointment and asked if it was okay if I could pay the next day instead which she seemed less than thrilled about but allowed it. The vibe seemed off after that and I'd like to make clear I did pay the following day. However the vibe for that appointment seemed annoyed and less than thrilled about accommodating me and seemed like money was priority over my mental health. Anyways next appt I cancel because of financial difficulties which leads me to running out of my medicine which means I'm going to to go through withdrawals. I asked if there was a way to bridge my medication until a next appointment to which she tells me to ask a PCP or go to Urgent care. As a black woman who has run out of my meds before for various reasons and has tried other outlets I have never been treated kindly or with compassion when I've reached out to other docs to bridge meds and have been treated like a drug seeker and just overall not a great experience or ever a helpful experience. Was already not excited for that option but called around to my Urgent cares to explain my situation before going in and paying and none of them could help me with the bridging of my psych meds. She said she was happy to help refill my meds but not unless I made an appointment but again I don't have $175 to pay. Threw me off because why am I going to urgent care and becoming a random doctors problem who doesn't know me or has expertise in the psych field. Withdrawals are no fun and while the medicine works I was never clearly educated on the severity of withdrawals from 2/3 medications that I take. Which hindsight 20/20 would have been nice to know when considering my medication options. Also the last few appointments my concerns about my life and how things were going seemed to be kinda crossed over and not really addressing my issues or concerns on how to move past them. For $175 and no insurance coverage with the guise that you don't take insurance so that you can give the best care without noise from insurance, I'd like to think you'd actually care and address my concerns than just a Pep talk and actual tools to help myself. If my feelings and emotions aren't going to be cared for and I can't get any help for emergencies and all I am getting is a Pep talk for $175 and a refill it just made sense to find someone else who is cheaper and will refill my meds than to think I'm actually going to be listened to or heard. I even expressed my concerns about previous encounters with going to urgent care for bridging my medicine and wasn't given a response or any other help however she speedily and was very helpful to give me all the info I needed to leave her practice and set up with another doctor who takes insurance. Not that I think I deserve special treatment but I would've thought after 9-10 year working together more care and effort would have been given or at least explanations of why what I was requesting isn't feasible or etc. For a longtime it seemed that she had cared about me and she was one of the only providers I felt comfortable with so paying out of pocket seemed worth it until I began to feel like just another number. I'm sure if you're a patient who is financially stable and have no issues with paying she would be more than willing and helpful to assist you.”

“Dr. Lambour is wonderful. She listens carefully, takes you seriously, and works with you to find real solutions. She’s easy to talk to, down-to-earth, and has a good sense of humor. She works with you on medication decisions, offering clear explanations and making sure you’re part of the decision making process and comfortable with the plan. Her approach is truly holistic, and she’s especially knowledgeable when it comes to navigating chronic conditions like fibromyalgia. I’ve always felt respected, heard, and cared for in our sessions. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a psychiatrist who is both professional and genuinely human.”
