“I see Dr. Owah and have been seeing her for over 2 years. I’ve been in counseling or therapy of some sort since my late 20s when I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety. Like many people I would start taking medication as soon as I felt better I would stop taking it, which is the worst thing to do. I’ve never stayed with any psychiatrist or therapist longer than six months but with Dr. Owah I’m completely comfortable and we even laugh on many occasions, which I haven’t had much to laugh about the past couple years so that says something.. I have her cell number and I can reach her anytime and she even checks on me during the week because I had lost my mom to cancer or around the same time that I was going through a separation and then I had fallen and fractured my back in three places, and also had to give up my emotional support cats because I couldn’t take them with me to my daughters due to their dogs, although I was able to get them back recently, which has been wonderful, but she helped me through all that and even spoke with my daughter about me getting my cats back in my defense because my son-in-law didn’t like cats, but she explained that this isn’t the fact of wanting them, even though I do, but I needed them. She goes out of her way to help me with any situation of encountered. She was right on the ball when it came to getting all my paperwork together for Social Security so I could get my case finished my social worker said it was the most detailed description of my psychological evaluation that ever gotten and if as far as I know, she used to work with Social Security and gave her recommendations on certain cases so she’s been a great help with that too. My youngest daughter’s 25 and deals with depression, anxiety, and social anxiety, and she’s going to be starting to see her as well, and she even offered to make a payment arrangement with my daughter because of her co-pays being so high and she couldn’t afford it. I used to see her at a different Therapy place, but she left and opened her own practice and made sure that she called me to let me know where she was now in case I wanted to still see her and I know a lot of psychiatrist and therapist wouldn’t go out of their way to do that, but she was worried about me and I feel like I can tell her anything and for me that’s really saying a whole lot because I tend to bottle everything up inside sometimes I feel like I’m just talking to a good friend and I do feel like she’s a friend not just my psychiatrist. My daughter is a substance abuse counselor and she actually gives Dr. Owah as a reference to her own patients. Deciding to continue therapy with Dr. Owah was the best decision I’ve made. I couldn’t be more confident with her as my Psychiatrist.”
