“Long Story I’ll try to keep short. I started therapy with Laura Shacklette after several months and really getting comfortable with her. Feeling like I could speak my mind and she truly understood. I realized she didn’t understand at all. She included in her notes things she told me she understood to be trauma responses and not the reality of my situation, in a way that showed she didn’t understand at all. (I’ll avoid intimate details) Rather than seeing the words I said as the trauma response she said she knew I had she saw them as Real desires! And terminated me. I can understand if there was a need but rather than talk out the obvious misunderstanding she had she said I have 4 sessions left! And that “It was not my decision but hers and she knew it hurt but that her decision would not change !” Despite my continued attempts to remedy the situation I was just told it her decision and I should stop trying to make her feel bad about it. Again a bit of discussion was all I was asking for! Her vague responses to my questions made my issues worse not better. While in therapy I thought she was great. But after being dumped like a hot rock I realized that her supposed concern was just not there! Insofar get the 4 sessions to finalized my therapy and get closure I was told that one week she would be out of office so now it’s 3. The last session was scheduled and literally 5mins before the start of our session I get an email “ Upon further thought, I think it would be better that we go ahead and cancel the appointment this afternoon. Effective today, I will no longer be able to provide therapeutic services to you. “ Ouch!!!! The last session is cancelled by email!!!??? That is as unprofessional as it gets! With EMDR, which we were doing you don’t just END sessions. There’s a process to pack up all the issues you unburied! THIS WAS NOT DONE! My next 3 potential therapist told me that “she didn’t do me any favors that for sure!” I wasn’t asking Laura to change her decision! I was just asking for the last session and closure to be able to move on with setbacks because of her actions. Don’t get me wrong Laura is a fantastic person. But as for her skills as a therapist. She could learn to listen to her clients a bit more and not make unilateral decisions based on her one side interpretation of conversations. When I spoke to Jolleen the Owner of the practice she said that she wouldn’t tell Laura what to do. And that I was up a creek in so many words. My review would be soooo different if I would/or would have had that final session just to end things properly, professionally, and therapeutically. Because of these actions I’ve spent months trying to find a therapist that fit and understood the trauma that her actions caused not to mention my main reason for seeking therapy in the first place. Thanks for reading the entire review. I hope this helps even just one person. I’m not saying don’t use Laura! I’m saying manage every word you speak if you do use her. If you do and ask her to read her notes to you periodically you may benefit. I’m not in the slightest bitter! Just upset that an ethical way to end therapy wasn’t followed. T”

“I love the therapists here 💞 I've been seeing mine for years and I'm feeling more stable than ever. They're so kind and understanding, and super flexible with scheduling. I would recommend them to anyone whether they've never been to therapy before and just want to try it or are looking for a new long term therapist. ❤🥰”

“I'll most likely get denied visits after this. I have had several issues with last minute cancelations and therapists not showing for telehealth appointments. if you truly need help try somewhere different”
