What patients say on Google
“Instead of feeling heard or cared for, I felt judged and dismissed. I was asked to vomit on demand to demonstrate how sick I was, and when I advocated for myself, I was threatened with security. A nurse even called me an “addict” directly to my face. I am not an addict. Unfortunately, it became clear to me that some of the way I was being treated was influenced by inaccurate and unsupported opioid-related information that had previously been entered into my Main Line Health record by Teresa Holman and Dr. Norman Callahan at Paoli Hospital. I take prescribed medication for legitimate medical conditions The record also states that I left AMA, which is not what happened. I was taken to the ER waiting room and left there without being given instructions to wait or being provided the normal discharge process. Patients who are seriously ill should not have to prove that they deserve to be taken seriously. Advocating for yourself should never result in being labeled an addict or threatened with security. This experience fundamentally changed the way I viewed Bryn Mawr Hospital. I hope Main Line Health takes these concerns seriously and recognizes how damaging this kind of treatment can be to a patient who is already sick and vulnerable.”
“Clean and extremely friendly nursing staff. Hence, the one star. The doctors, though friendly, do not investigate deep enough and do the bare minimum. Took my mom to the ER two separate times within two weeks for excruciating pain after gallbladder removal. They only did CTs and looked at the stomach and gallbladder area. Released her saying everything was fine. Finally went to University of Penn’s ER. They actually investigated and did an MRI. Turns out she had two abscesses on a disc in her spine. Also, she spent more time, had more tests, and had spinal surgery at Penn, and the medical bill was cheaper than Bryn Mawr.”
“I took my mother to this ER yesterday, a 1.5 hrs from her home, because her back doctor said if my mother did not use Bryn Mar Hospital she could no longer be a patient of Rothman. We were there from 12 pm to 8:45 pm. My mother was in so much pain. My mother layed in the highway waiting just to get a simple prescription of pain medicine. Than the Dr sent this simple prescription to the CVS in Georgia! Now my mother still did not get that simple prescription.”
“As a retired medical professional I was impressed with Bryn Mawr ER dept. My husband developed a blood clot and we decided to head to Bryn Mawr at 7am a few days ago. We had never been to this hospital. The security guard was welcoming and guided us thru the entrance. The check in receptionist was friendly and efficient. The triage nurse was kind and took my husbands history & symptoms swiftly. The phlebotomist placed an iv catheter & drew blood with skill and gentleness. The ER Dr. Blakey was knowledgeable and direct. The ultrasound tech was very skilled and made an uncomfortable test bearable. The diagnosis was a superfical clot that would require oral medication. After we got home Dr. Blakey took a few calls from us as we worked to get the appropriate medication at a cost we could afford. My husband and I were beyond impressed with the kindness, professionalism, & exceptional customer service we encountered with every staff member. A big Thank You to everyone at Bryn Mawr. We appreciate you and all the hard work and efforts you give every day. God bless you all!”
