“I've had a really positive experience with Breakthru so far. I've tried numerous treatments over the years without much success, so my psych referred me here. I had a phone consultation scheduled within a few minutes of calling, and they fit me in for a full consultation within 2 days. Dr. Amar listened to all of my concerns, took his time to explain all of the pros and cons to help me decide between therapy options, and was understanding about my insurance being out-of-network (even offering to adjust the treatment timeline to fit my budget). I didn't feel rushed during the initial appointment; I felt that he genuinely cared about my concerns and finding the best option for me (not just getting another patient on the books) They had me booked for my first treatment the following week, everyone was welcoming, and the office/treatment rooms are really comfortable. I have some difficulties with getting IVs placed, but Heather reassured me and got one in, and I got to have my treatment despite a couple of hiccups with the IV line. The following treatment, I had issues again, so Heather recommended I try a different administration route instead. She is a LIFESAVER! Without her recommending the change, I would have had a miserable experience continuing to try IVs that wouldn't work for my body. I wouldn't have continued treatment, and I likely would have written off ketamine as an option for me - without Heather's help, I don't think I would have felt better anywhere near as quickly as I have. I've only done half of my initial treatment course, and my wife and I have already noticed substantial improvement. As grateful as I am to Dr. Amar for the care he's provided, I cannot express enough how helpful Heather has been so far in my treatment. She made a nerve-wracking experience far less daunting during my first two treatments, and every session, she makes it clear that she really cares for her patients' comfort. She's the reason I keep coming back! The treatments I get here are the only thing that have ever offered relief from my symptoms, and I'm even considering going back to grad school soon. They helped me a lot with the financial side as well, honoring my CareCredit after discontinuing the payment method only a couple of treatments in (thank you, Rhonda!). The only issue I've had is with having my appointments rescheduled/shuffled around three times this month. They have been training new employees, so I try to be understanding when there's scheduling oversights, but it is something that can get frustrating, especially since I'm a self-pay patient and schedule everything else around my treatments here. ETA: One of the other major benefits of Breakthru is that everyone takes the time to explain things to me, so I always feel in control of my treatments. I feel comfortable asking questions because I know they’ll be thoroughly answered, and I never feel rushed. I haven’t gotten this experience with most other psychs. Overall, I would definitely recommend Breakthru if you feel like you're running out of options or need more intensive treatment to help make life livable again.”
