“initially going to be a 3 star that praised my therapists up and down, expressed a great deal of frustration with the admin process. Then got a text removing me from sessions with a therapist who was one of my only lifelines during a sustained episode, reason given was "multiple staff interactions" with no prior warning (spoke to 3 people, two therapists who neither expressed discomfort, both expressed plans to keep seeing me; and the admin/intake), after being firm about customer dissatisfaction with the admin setup, no feedback survey available found, no personal attacks, pulled on a saturday with no other practices open to call til monday. Given i in no way was unsafe or forced interactions (tried disengaging even) kept it to informed customer gripes as someone who has worked med office both as HR/Admin, did not accept the explanation, said i'd write this review, seems retaliatory, negative reviews highlight this. (as well the passive aggressive email i got after posting) learned a lot in the last 6 calls or so, will be going in the subsequent BBB filing: >there is one admin/intake specialist, sister of the owner, her name is Joey Bravo and other negative reviews mention this. >>if there is another i was not transferred to them when i plainly asked to have someone else call me >she calls me my legal name, every time i speak to her we have the same talk that i prefer another name. i'm realizing she has no idea who i am. she says she talks to thousands of patients so she cant remember and spends several minutes trying to explain legal names and preferred names to me (i've been out for 7 years), every other practice i see still has my legal name and refers to me by my preferred, minor gripe if it was just that id shrug >>keeps blaming reception, trying to defuse me like im raging at her when i am in no way attacking her directly just frustrated with service >she expresses confusion as to whether i'm a new patient, who i was seeing, who made the referral and why, she quotes my file back to me incorrectly, months out of date, then says she's a remote worker without access to my file and relying on notes >i hang up in frustration because reception keeps getting blamed but thats not what im distressed by now that is a bizarre system >she keeps and keeps calling back, I ask for someone else to call me, i dont think there is anyone >i finally get the number and move on, explain my frustrations to my therapist >joey texts me the number (why not lead with this?) Why call at all then? I kept confirming and asking for the number she kept trying to get me to affirm her goodness >i call the guy twice, then joey calls and says he cant see me and i need to go to another practice >i ask why i was subjected to any of this at all if it wasnt known i was able to see him. not given a good answer, i say this seems like an awful organizational practice, she gets defensive and leaves. I do not engage further. I did nothing but state frustration and dissatisfaction with actions not characters >despite affirming my rationality and frustration and accepting i need an alt emdr referral (but ofc understandably not taking sides) and confirming next appt, next day my therapist says she can no longer see me, resetting my therapy process and cutting me off from one of the best treatment situations ive had in years i cannot in any way fathom this as anything other than retaliation for plainly saying i would write this review. i guess my next steps are the BBB and maybe a lawyer. Here are the call logs for what joey says was "only a few minutes" i was so dissociated by the end i had to ask for directions home 2nd edit: both my other practice (psychiatric) and my friend who owns her own practice, my prior stated experience- my file being decentralized but the capacity to yank me from treatment (without a warning or mediation on what amounts to a firm but impersonal customer complaint, no yelling or attacks just me going ???) is an immediate central decision. At the risk of humor: it's nuts on medicaid so can't speak to the billing stuff”

“It took only about a month at Bravo Psychological Group for me to realize this practice lacks organization and good supervision, limiting their ability to uphold an ethical standard as a mental health provider. I experienced this in both therapy and administrative/billing. Bravo Psychological Group cut me off therapy just after three days of falsely accusing me of having another insurance. I found out the cause of the problem on the first day I was notified of it (it was an error in the insurance system’s TPL records) and contacted Joey Bravo the next day with no response. By the third day, my therapist at the time, Kally, delivered me the message from Eric Bravo that the rest of my appointments will be canceled. When I tried to talk to her about the fact that I really had no other insurance than the one this company had in file, she redirected me to Joey Bravo for billing issues and wasn't responsive. At the time, I’d been calling the insurance almost daily and giving Joey important text updates, but I wasn't hearing back from Joey at all. So, I sent her another message, and she asked me who I was... When I said my name, she didn’t respond. Almost a week later, I texted her again and asked for a call, but in that call she was still telling me that I needed to give them my other nonexistent insurance. I simply tried to explain the situation to her, but she continuously talked over me, not allowing me to speak a full sentence uninterrupted. Then, Joey started to tell me I needed to call the insurance and ask them to fix the records, which was actually what I’d been doing and trying to explain to her in the text messages and that ongoing call. I added that I wished they’d been more compassionate and communicative regarding the situation, but she disagreed with me. She softened a bit after realizing that I had been removed from therapy already and was like, oh honey, don’t cry. I apologized in the text afterwards to her for being upset, and she said no worries, but didn't reciprocate. Within a few days after that call, my insurance problem got resolved, meaning that I truly didn't have another insurance. I told Joey that I can’t see myself returning to Kally, but she just said I could work it out with her. For the record, my primary doctor’s office had no issues with claims during that same time period, although Joey told me after that call that they were going to “resubmit” the claim. Unrelated to the insurance problem, but during my last therapy session, Kally accused me of not disclosing information about my medication either verbally or in the client history form when, in fact, I had shared all the details of my prescription in the form, which she claimed to have read multiple times. This whole situation with Bravo Psychological Group did a lot of damage to my mental health, and I've been afraid to return to therapy or go to the doctor ever since.”

“Bravo Psychology Group is a complete disappointment. The practice is poorly managed, with therapists working as independent contractors and owners Eric and Joe Bravo failing to communicate properly with their own staff. Patients are left stuck in the middle. The most disturbing moment was Joey Bravo calling me to ask for a positive review, instead of fixing the actual problems. That alone told me everything I needed to know. The focus is clearly on money and optics, not patient care. Azia Lin Thompson, required repeated reminders about my goals and what I needed help with, even after almost a year of sessions. There was no consistency and no clear direction which resulting in me leaving this disgusting practice. Seeing that this practice has multiple BBB complaints only confirmed my experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone who is serious about their mental health.”

“If I could give the Bravo Psychological Group 100 stars I would. This was my first time trying therapy so of course I was nervous, but from that first onboarding call I knew I made the right decision. They were extremely welcoming, warm, patient and helpful. The office even called my insurance company for me to let me know my coverage. I matched with my incredible life coach Ms. Joey Bravo, and since that day my life has changed for the better. I clicked with her the second we met. Joey is a talented, experienced coach that offers wonderful advice and genuinely CARES!! She makes me feel seen, heard, and supported. She has a way of asking just the right questions and provides real life examples that helps me uncover insights I hadn’t realized before. I always leave our sessions feeling empowered and more hopeful. I’m beyond grateful to have found Joey and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a compassionate, skilled life coach who truly CARES!!!”
