What patients say on Google

“REVIEW (+ counter perspective) - Reasonably quick to get an intake appointment - Nice client portal system - Clean office, calm energy, and kind people - Appropriately priced - Dr. Henchcliffe is intelligent, competent, and up-to-date with his psychiatric care. I have been very pleased with my experiences at Dr. Henchcliffe's office. He is polite, professional, and personable as others have mentioned. I was fortunate to get my first appointment within a few weeks of calling, which is much better than the typical 3-6+ month wait time for most other psychiatric clinics in the area. He does perform a thorough intake and does not rush the appointment. He is appropriately cautious and thoughtful when prescribing medications; I've had previous doctors that have been careless in prescribing medications for the sake of getting the next paying customer in. He and his receptionist have been patient with me as I tend to forget to fill things out or when my appointment is. I was expecting him to be another ego-driven male doctor but he is the complete opposite. I'd say Dr. Henchcliffe is good people. I'd say more but at the same time it is weird enough disclosing who you are seeing for specialized care DOWNSIDE The office location is the only downside so far, but that is more of a personal issue. The "9" in the address is because THE OFFICE IS ON THE NINTH DADGUM FLOOR! That is nearly 100 feet up in the thin air if not more! And there's a BIGGGG wide window that you sit facing the entire appointment. Beautiful view but dadgum high up. So if you have a thing with heights like I do, perhaps ask the receptionist to have the shades drawn. COUNTER PERSPECTIVE I'd like to share a quote that is quite relevant: "Feelings are always real, but they aren't always right" Dr. Henchcliffe's is not money-hungry and I find that to be a laughable accusation. I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 young kids trying to finish my bachelor's degree. I have very limited and sporadic income and this office has patiently worked with me while I waited for my school money to come in. He's even worked with me on different medications in the event I am not able to afford the monthly expense. $450 is actually a fair out-of-pocket price for the quality of service recieved. A psychiatrist is a specialist; going to another specialist such as an ENT would be a similar expense. Only you can determine what your mental health is worth. I chose Dr. Henchcliffe due to him being a "newer" doctor as I wanted someone with more updated education (2018 I think) and I am glad I did. Sometimes the wrong medication is the right medication at the wrong dose... but how can either party know for certain without recent data? It often takes 4-7 office visits to hit a medication "sweet spot" and it is a process which can have dangerous consequences if rushed. What you think you want may not be what you need. Another side note, Dr. Henchcliffe's a psychiatrist not a psychologist... having an hour long appointment is not really the norm for our area due to the high demand of psychiatric services and low availability of quality practitioners. A referral/evaluation from a psychologist beforehand will help ensure your time and money is used efficiently.”

“I have been impressed with Dr. Henchcliffe. He is thorough, professional, and personable. I have had to email and/or call on several occasions regarding my prescriptions. He is incredibly prompt in his response. Also, he is a great listener and responds professionally without appearing dismissive or condescending. As an added bonus, the office manager, Sandy, is equally as personable and competent. I highly recommend Dr. Henchcliffe.”
