How likely are you to recommend Beyond the Storm Behavioral Health?
What patients say on Google
“I have had a wonderful experience with Beyond The Storm Behavioral Health. Their team truly possesses an in-depth understanding of trauma and neurodivergence. For years, I searched for providers who understood my brain, which often led to more trauma when past providers lacked actual expertise. If you are ready to do the work and heal from the things keeping you stuck, Beyond The Storm can help you. I am deeply grateful for my therapist/counselor. She meets me exactly where I am every single session. No matter how internally messy things feel for me, her calm presence and compassionate understanding makes me feel entirely safe. One thing I have learned from my own personal experience- is if you can’t trust your therapist/counselor, no true inner work can be done. That’s actually where the healing starts. ❤️🩹”
“been attending sessions here for about 2 years, almost twice a month, and overall the counseling was decent. However, when an emergency happened, there was absolutely no flexibility. On my way to a session, my car’s engine started overheating, and after speaking with my parents, I had to stop driving immediately. I was unable to notify the office in time due to safety concerns. Despite being a long-term client, I was charged the full no-show fee ($50 plus $25 for the session). The repair for my car ended up costing over $1,000, so this added fee felt especially unfair. I explained the situation, but the office refused to make any accommodations or exceptions, which was incredibly frustrating. Life happens, and emergencies are part of it. I can’t recommend this office for anyone looking for understanding or flexibility in truly unexpected situations. It made a difficult day much worse. As a business owner, I think taking a 50 dollar hit or however much they would have lost for that one session would be worth it considering I had no issues beforehand. One thing I don’t play about is my money especially with the cost of everything I spend my hard earned money on my mental health I will spend it elsewhere hopefully with a practice that gives grace when life happens! Update: they refunded me after some back and forth so I changed my rating to a 3 however I really had to go to bat. Nobody wants to get kicked when they already down. 50 can be the difference between noddles for two weeks and a proper meal.”
“Booked an appointment for my daughter for a couple of weeks out. They cancelled on the day of the appointment because the provider could only take one of my daughter's insurances, and wasn't able to take the second insurance. Would have been nice to know this information beforehand instead of cancelling same day on a child who needs help.”
“I want to share my experience in detail to provide context for anyone considering this practice. October 8: I inquired about therapy services, specifying that I was looking for CBT-focused therapy and asking whether CareCredit would be accepted. I was told it would. Before booking, I confirmed that a payment plan would be acceptable, and I was assured it would be fine. Appointment Day: No one told me the therapist’s location beforehand. I assumed it would be the facility closest to me, since I looked up that location and called the number associated with it. Upon arrival, I was told the appointment was in another town and that I’d need to either reschedule or rush to make it there on time. That level of miscommunication feels extremely unprofessional, especially for a mental health practice where clear communication is fundamental. During Visit: The session was essentially talk therapy. After I explained why I was there and what I was going through, the therapist mentioned that she couldn’t imagine going through something like that herself and became emotional. This was concerning — I was seeking support, and it felt inappropriate for the therapist to be the one in tears during my session. Payment Issues: I made it clear from the start that I could not pay the full session cost ($135) upfront. Despite this, the front desk repeatedly pressured me for full payment and ultimately forced me to put my debit card on file, which made me uncomfortable and worried they might try to charge the full amount since they had been pushing so hard for it. I agreed to a $40/month payment plan, which was accepted, and the first $40 payment was made on 10/15. I have since followed this plan. Additional Payment Pressure: Even before the first $40 payment was made, there was constant pressure to pay the full amount. I also made it clear that I could not afford weekly sessions, which the therapist had suggested — this would have been $540/month. Despite my repeated statements, they continued to push for the appointment to go ahead. Professionalism Concerns: It became clear that the practice prioritizes collecting money over client care. While I understand a business needs to make ends meet, the focus on financial collection over supporting clients seeking help felt greedy and unprofessional. Between being misled about location, pushed for full payment against my stated limits, and having my card leveraged, their repeated failures in communication and consideration show a lack of professionalism. Final Thoughts: If a mental health facility cannot properly communicate basic client information — a fundamental skill in their line of work — it is a huge red flag and reflects poorly on the business. This pattern of miscommunication and pressure has fully solidified my decision not to return.”
