“hii i was at the php program earlier this year. a lot of the kids were super nice and funny, and i felt welcomed there as so far the kids. but i acc got trauma from here and i still get horrible flashbacks when i think of it. but if you say something even slightly concerning, or a “concerning” joke, they will invade your privacy. like going through your journal, your backpack or purse, your folder, or any pockets you may have on you. they also implemented a rule about a week before i left where they would only allow 1 item to be brought in for every student, which can be stressful for kids who like stuffed animals or a stress toy. i personally never had an issue, but i know my friends did. but for my main point, i didn’t learn any skills. i don’t even remember what i learned at my time there. they would continuously make coping mechanisms but none of them helped. they don’t say this, but medication will make you feel better. after i started taking medication i felt so much better. its also a pretty sad environment. you are away from ur school friends for 2 months.”
“Our daughter attended the IOP program in the Westlake area for little over 12 weeks. While we initially saw improvements in her communication, self-esteem, and especially her confidence, the experience overall was disappointing and deeply concerning. Midway through the program, her therapist was changed without prior notice or proper transition. The new therapist was inexperienced, lacked direction, and, in my opinion as a parent, was completely unfit to work with such a vulnerable group of teens facing serious emotional and behavioral challenges. She showed little empathy or engagement with the youth, appearing to be there simply to fill a vacancy. The program is expensive, and although it was covered by insurance options,, the lack of quality and internal organization makes it far from worth it. The administration seems more focused on billing than on actual patient care or outcomes. There was poor communication and inconsistent leadership, which only added more stress to an already difficult time for our family. As a mother, I cannot recommend this program to any parent seeking genuine support for a child struggling with anxiety or depression. Please look elsewhere for a facility that truly values and understands the needs of young people and their families.”
“My 12 year old daughter just completed the partial hospitalization program and I cannot praise the team at Beyond enough. It was the best experience we could’ve had in our hardest time. Daily communication, thorough counseling, it was all just perfect.”
“At least the other kids were nice. As for the staff, some of them were nice but one of them wasn't at all. I can't say too much but I was told that my trauma was baseless and a bunch of other things I cannot say because I don't want my identity revealed but it was bad. I was basically told I would never get help and I had too many problems. After going there, my problems got WAYYY worse. I thought I was cured from my depression after I graduated because it was so bad. My problems got worse while I was there too. I'd recommend if you have a few issues but if you have a lot going on, just don't go here. If you have anxiety or depression (not clinically impairing your life), you'll probably benefit from it. If you have worse issues, they won't help, they just make it worse. I bet you a ton of kids who did have a bad time here don't want to speak up because they don't want the staff to know it was them. There are quite a few people who had traumatizing experiences here but also a few who enjoyed it and got better. It all just depends what issues you have and if you think people telling you techniques and sitting in a room for 6 hours will help you get better. Some staff members were nice and the other kids were nice hence why my rating isn't too low. I have lots of respect for the kids and some staff members but my problems are different now and I feel more hopeless than ever. I did get lifelong friends from the experience though so there are some benefits. Also they usually keep you there as long as your insurance will pay for it because they want the money (so usually two months).”
