“They have an amazing place here! I do their Spravato treatments and it’s truly helped me turn my life around and reduced the severity of my depression symptoms. I also receive phenomenal counseling and psychiatry services with Dr. Bell for psychiatry and Mr. Teague for therapy. Both are very uplifting and insightful. I’m truly honored to be part of this amazing community at Better Me. Please call them for community resources even if you don’t want to come here for treatment. They know about a lot of mental health, addiction, homelessness and other programs that exist in Columbus that many people might not be aware of. Dr. Bell is an inspirational figure in the community. She has helped develop programs for sobriety including a sober living home for those who’ve lost everything who are ready and willing to work to get back the life they had before addiction. She provides a sobriety support group and does amazing work as a medical director at an inpatient and outpatient hospital for mental health crises. I have a lot of respect for her. It’s even better that my Spravato is 100% covered by CareSource here. They have a helpful orientation to provide information about Spravato to you and any loved ones. The rooms for Spravato are quiet and kept dim and have comfy chairs. One room has a massage chair and another has enormous comfy recliners. The decor is relaxing and reminiscent of a spa. TVs are available. Headphones required. I usually reach out for scheduling and refills over text and they’re always so so so quick at answering and following up thoroughly. They’re very fast at addressing any requests and they’re very flexible. They provide in person and telehealth counseling and psychiatry services. I live in Dublin so the telehealth availability is much appreciated. The intake process was smooth, quick and easy and I felt confident in my decision to go through with receiving Spravato treatments. The Spravato itself is worth getting through the initial few treatments. It normally gets much less overwhelming. The nurses are always so kind and compassionate. They’re patient and supportive and check up on you and work with you to make your treatment the best it can be. They’ll even help you walk to the bathroom if you’re wobbly. I only became emotional once on it and the nurse there helped me calm down and take deep breaths. When I ate too soon before an appointment, I believe they had Zofran available for me since I do receive psychiatry services there. If you’re emotional and are having difficulty calming down and if you’re receiving psychiatry services there, I believe they are able to provide vistaril/hydroxyzine something (a mild antihistamine that can reduce anxiety) as long as they check with your psychiatrist there. Do not eat the 2 hours before your appointment or you’ll get sick. Other than that, it’s worth looking at Spravato’s website to find out more. If you’re intrigued in taking the plunge, and have treatment resistant depression and su!cidal ideation like I used to, just try it. It’s a lot to take in at first but it’s so worth the relief you’ll feel. I can’t tell you the happiness. Im so happy I can say I used to have the ideation and now I don’t with Spravato. Mr. Teague, my therapist here, is phenomenal. He’s incredibly gifted. I always leave our appointments with a smile and feeling motivated. He’s got an endless supply of resources and so much wisdom and understanding. He’s very gentle with his questions and guiding the conversation and thought process. But he doesn’t lie to you or sugar coat too much, he is honest and keeps it real. He is a huge crusader for your well being, safety and pursuit of happiness from day one. He’s so so flexible with his hours and can even do evenings and weekends sometimes! He understands depression can cause people struggling with it to miss appointments and is always happy to reschedule - which I don’t see very often. I’m so grateful to have him as a therapist. I’m so happy I chose this place. It’s changed my life beyond how I ever imagined.”
