How likely are you to recommend Berks Counseling Center?
“Great place love the staff and doctors”
“Do not recommend. They don't know their own intake hours because it "depends on who happens to be in" even though certain hours are listed, they told me I have group therapy on Wednesdays then scheduled me for Friday mornings and no one would pick up the phone besides the front desk who couldn't help, the person emailing me said she had a whole convo with me that never happened about me coming in Friday mornings (I'll get fired if I miss work so no we didn't), (theyre checking now because oopsie they mixed me up with a whole other client), they're just a mess. As soon as I'm out of the ARD program (alcohol only) I'm leaving this place.”
“I had 15 sessions with Ana. She really knows what she is doing. She gave me some exercises I could use when my anxiety starts getting really bad. I am so happy to say that they really work. There was an problem someone else was having and it escalated where this man was yelling at the admin team. It made me feel so uncomfortable and they had no security. The one security guy that was working down stairs clearly wouldnt have been able to help. I hope they fix that issue.”
“Not my appointment, but I went to the intake as a support person for the patient. It took fairly long before we actually were able to start the actual intake, but it seems like they are willing to listen to the patient and not be hyper focused on procedure and protocol. They told him 2 weeks minimum to see a psychiatrist, which is better than 3 months and 1 year -- the timeframe other places gave him. The 3 month one demanded that he stop his current medication. This place did not. Some of the questions they had to be ask were irrelevant or there was not a one word answer to, but it didn't negatively affect the results. The treatment plan sounds like it is manageable. What they do need to do is offer parking tokens. There's no parking lot, so you either park at the Welfare office and pay that lot or park at the parking garage and pay that fee. Kind of crazy when you really don't know how long you are going to be.”
