“If zero stars could be given! This is absolutely the worst place to ever have to deal with. The provider that did my 12 year old's intake was great. Was shown the therapist he would be seeing at that time. Was told that we would receive a call within a week to schedule that appt. That never came and I take full responsibility of not following up myself until I received a letter stating that we would be discharged from the clinic if we didn't come to our scheduled appts...THAT NEVER EXISTED! Called the clinic and they said someone would call...they didn't until two weeks after that. Was told that the provider was on medical leave and an appt was finally scheduled...for June! And when we got to that appt I was not the provider we were shown at the initial visit! Wasn't able to see the actual doctor until two months later in April (process started in January). Prescribed new meds for him. When the time came for my sons first refill of medication, wasn't told that he would have to come in before they would send a refill so at that point he was already out. Provider didn't send in what was asked but I thought I would try, even though it was way out of my price range. Called this time a week before he ran out of meds, but couldn't get in for a week so he was out of meds at the time of his appt. Told the nurse that I did not want ER meds for him because A: They don't work and B: They are very expensive. Told her what I would like to try him on because he did well on it, and as a parent you know your child. His rx gets called in yesterday at 5:30 ...and was not what I asked for but no one is available to discuss because its after hours. How convenient. Left a message for the RN which should have been addressed first thing this morning and nothing. Here we are on a Friday almost afternoon going into the weekend without medication....These people don't listen to anything you have to say, they don't care that you are out of medication and make the process extremely inconvenient. Absolutely would not recommend!”

“Boy oh boy been dealing with this place for 15 years. Only place son can go as insurance ran out at 26 . Had him in hospital when he turned 26 they let him out because no insurance. I've done what they said to do. When you're dealing with the mentally ill, you have to be careful and not trample their rights. I'm told if they say no then they can't do anything. Where is that helping when you know they are ill. I shouldn't even give you 1 star as this has been a vicious cycle. I'm now at a cross road. Mental illness is serious and mentally ill people don't always make good judgment calls.”

“So far I’ve been pleased with the services my family receives BUT sitting in the waiting area is a HIIPA hot mess!!! They have no cell phone policy so people are talking on speaker phones, face time and playing audio for EVERYONE to hear.”

“Berkeley Community Health Center This place is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The environment is nature outside and caring and nurturing inside. Professionalism is shown the moment you enter with friendly, welcoming smiles from the administrative team and by experts such as psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors, who provide clinical services including services in Spanish. The Berkeley Community Health Center provides Mental health crisis services, case management, outpatient counseling and psychiatric treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout Berkeley county. These services are much needed in the world we live in today impacting our children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance. Prior reviews are just a sign of so much negativity in the world we are living in these days and there are so many unseen conditions affecting cognitive behaviors. With a clear vision and mission to serve our community, Berkeley Community Health Center, practices their values of respect, professionalism and commitment to quality in a world full of diversity. And, they do not discriminate or refuse services to anyone based on age, sex, gender, race, religion, disability, national origin, health status, sexual orientation or economic status. From past traumas and all my personal issues post covid I had to deal with not limited to the arrival of my mother in law- marriage crisis- to depression-anxiety and unseen illness-fibromyalgia.I was overwhelmed but I now I am so grateful for Berkeley Community Health Center I appreciate them so much for making me stronger and giving me the tools to continue my day to day life’s journey. A friend approached my husband with some family issues and my husband recommended mental health and my elderly mother goes to therapy in Spanish. Her anxiety has lessened and she has a better quality of life. For example, “If you have a scratch- you place a bandaid but if you experience a broken arm you go to the doctor”. Same with unseen issues or that feeling of being overwhelmed, I highly recommend Berkeley Community Health Center.”
