How likely are you to recommend Beacon Behavioral Hospital - New Orleans?
What patients say on Google
“Lakisha Young was absolutely zero help. Best to speak to a manager five times. They keep asking me for a patient code, which I don’t have. How am I supposed to get my patient out if I don’t have their code. I’ve asked to speak to a manager. I’m getting help from this lady. I’m trying to get my girlfriend ONNA GODSEY. Someone needs to call me.”
“I want to take my time to thank every staff member there my time stating there for treatment was amazing and eye opening i want to thank everyone there for the treatment I have received while there just got discharged as of yesterday May 28th 2026 been there 7 days and have gotten all but the best help from everyone 😊 thank yall so much feel a whole lot better I went in broken and left the better version of me from Tierra to yall thank you sooooo much 10/10 would recommend anyone needing help with mental health this is the place to go and trust.”
“This is not a place to go if you are struggling mentally. My experience here was not good. They told me I would be there 72hrs and then kept me much longer without a proper explanation. You’re automatically treated like you’re insane. It doesn’t make sense. The food is not nutritious at all. There isn’t any real therapy for these patients or education on having a mental illness and how to cope with it. You’ll get a coloring sheet and maybe some printed out pages of basic psychological terminology handed to you. You can roam the halls or sit in the cafeteria with the other patients, getting a few breaks outside in between. Other than that, there’s nothing to do but sit with yourself in an empty, depressing white room. The environment is chaotic and can get dangerous. If you have ptsd, this place will be very triggering. The staff is just doing their job and I appreciate what they did to help me feel comfortable. Some of them went above and beyond but this place needs serious changes. I received meds that work decently, had nice moments with some of the patients, and came out more grateful for the life I have but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. People that struggle with their mental health and trauma deserve so much better.”
“Excellent nurses. Excellent social workers. Most techs are cool too. Techs go through a lot though, but a few of them needed to work on their attitude towards patients. Last but not least, I feel asthough a month and a half was way to long to be in there.”
