What patients say on Google

“I just started going to Avita back in March for some mental health assistance and I couldn't be more thankful for the people who work there and the services they provide. My quality of life has drastically improved with the help of medication and talk therapy. If you are low income and looking for mental health services, I couldnt recommend them enough.”

“This is a late review but avoid this place at all costs. They will diagnose you with serious mental health issues such as schizophrenia in just a half hour one time visit. Which is not how it's done! It takes many weeks and even months to diagnose such as that. They misdiagnosed me many years ago and put me on Geodon which caused me many health problems and ruined my reputation the rest of my life. Unfortunately, I was too trusting and ignorant to know better then. They based my diagnosis on simply having a few odd hallucination issues that were minor which I never had since and I've been on Geodon for a very long time but not after it nearly killed me to get off of it a few years later. Never had any issues since. They got a Geodon poster in their front office which obviously tells me they get incentives for pushing that on people. Hence the extremely quick jumps to diagnosis. Ruin people's lives for money. But the man that ultimately put me on it was Dr. Wesley Seabolt. He no longer works there though but that man ruined me. I blame him and Avita.”

“Intake nurse Lynn is very unprofessional. she doesn't read the paperwork that they make you fill out before you get into her office, then proceeds to ask the same questions as what's on the paperwork and rewrite it down on the same paper.. why make patients write it down if they are going to ask it again only to write it down... The knowledge that my younger brother took his own life was on the paperwork and is more than enough information to satisfy her nurse intake level position, but she felt entitled to dig into how he took his life. She also made statements about what the *doctor* will and won't do within 5 minutes of sitting down in her office. I called her out for stepping out of her lane, and she began glaring silently at me for what felt like a full minute. I asked her if she was going to move on. She snapped at me that she was waiting for me to finish. I had been silent the whole time she was glaring. So I walked out of her office and to the front desk to ask to schedule another day to speak to another person. Lynn followed me there and felt it necessary to snottily say, "Just so you know.. the doctor will ask the same questions. " So let the *doctor* ask them then, at least it's their place to do so. But I'll have you know, my last doctor that I spoke with in May never asked "how" my brother took his life, they just offered condolences and increased my anti-depressant. How many times are you going to make someone who is actively seeking help for *active* depression related struggles relive the traumas? I just wrote everything down and within the first 5 minutes of the intake appointment she tells me basically that half of the help I need, I will not be receiving, as if she has the authority to say such, and then pries into an extremely sensitive subject to satisfy her own curiosity. The "how" of someone taking their life is not relevant to the intake nurse, and I doubt it's even relevant to the doctor. When I arrived, Lynn was attempting to gossip to the admin lady (who was very kind, but I didn't catch her name) about another patient named Trey who was in the newspaper, apparently. The admin lady shut her down by pointing out that she was working, i.e. checking me in. I genuinely believe Lynn was only asking how my brother took his life so that she could gossip about me later. I will press charges if I hear any word of gossip make it out of Avita about myself or my brother. The front desk lady said I could call her to reschedule bec my phone restarted at that point and Lynn kept standing there glaring at me after i repeated at the front desk my opinion that she was stepping out of line by making statements and asking questions that the actual doctor is in charge of. After thinking about it on my way home, I will not be returning to this office. If they are willing to employ one unprofessional like Lynn, how can I trust the professionalism of anyone else employed there? I will say again though the front desk lady who I neglected to get her name was friendly and funny and kind, and I greatly appreciate her reminding me that I had the option to leave and call her later bec in the moment I was too upset and shocked to remember that was an option.”

“If I could leave zero stars, I would. This place only caters to adults, and they suck. My kids were receiving medication (they're both autistic) through these people. I had to discontinue use of their services. They said I couldn't continue unless my kids had counseling through them as well. They don't have children's counseling services, nor are they qualified to help disabled children!! I now have to find another provider!! Thanks Avita! 🗑️”
