“Dr. Hussain from Avance is an excellent psychiatrist who truly listens and genuinely cares about his patients. He is professional, understanding, and highly knowledgeable. I appreciate the time and attention he gave me throughout my treatment. He created a comfortable environment where I felt respected and understood, and he took the time to clearly explain all treatment options while listening carefully to my concerns. I felt comfortable discussing even difficult topics, and I’m grateful for the support and progress I’ve made under his care. After visiting multiple hospitals for over a year without clear answers, Dr. Hussain was able to diagnose the issue accurately within just two visits. The treatment plan has been very effective, and we are extremely satisfied with the care provided. Scheduling appointments in Avance has been easy, and both the doctor and staff have been consistently supportive, professional, and attentive throughout the entire process.”

“I usually dont leave reviews. But need to at this point. I had a previous doctor who worked with me for MONTHS at avance to get the correct medication to help me. This doctor moved to a different facility and I wanted to stay with avance to keep current meds... boy was that a bad decision Had a new meeting with Dr. Hussain per normal procedure I assume which was fine... then I was immediately questioned for why I was taking these medications at all. A bit suprised I attempted to explain why and was immediately interrupted and pushed to another question. This went on for 20 minutes and was then recommended other medications because he didnt think I needed my current ones... this was THE FIRST day meeting with this guy... and above that? If I tried to keep explaining a situation, he would just talk louder to get me to shut up.... I also lost my prescription meds by accident, put in a request and he hasn't replied in nearly a MONTH, I follow up and they just ignore me. Will never recommend this place again. Sorry, not sorry”

“I was extremely disappointed and very offended many times in my appointment with Dr. Husein. He insinuated that I didn't actually have ADHD, that "female hormones" were causing some of my 'issues' (this is so incredibly sexist holy shit), and tried to insist on knowing details about my genitals. This is completely unacceptable behavior from a medical provider. If I had not repeatedly stood up for myself and insisted medication was beneficial I really think I would have walked out of there with practically no medication for conditions I have struggled with for decades. It felt like he didn't "believe" that someone could have a complex medical diagnoses. I have chosen not to return. Do not see Dr. Husein if you are a woman, queer, or have a complex medical history.”

“I thought I could do a payment plan, which was my misunderstanding, but when I was told I'd need to pay in full that day, I said I'd need to cancel the appointment. They then told me they would check to see if a payment plan was possible after all. I was told yes and the appointment was allowed to start. Someone from the front desk then proceeded to barge into the appointment and tell me that I actually couldn't go through with it without full payment. Very humiliating, especially in a psychiatry office where I was already emotionally vulnerable. I left a message with the complaint department and supplied this feedback on an automated survey but haven't heard from anyone. It's been a week and a half. Edited 8/19/26: Still have heard absolutely nothing. I'm floored. What a disgrace.”
