What patients say on Google
“Therapy and inpatient treatment can sometimes feel frustrating and disconnected. It can seem like there’s a lack of real communication between staff and patients, while a lot of paperwork gets pushed without fully explaining the purpose behind it. Some doctors come across as distant or overly focused on medication and insurance coverage rather than truly listening to people. At times, it feels like the system leans heavily on prescribing pills that can become addictive, while patients are made to feel like they’re the problem for questioning things. There are definitely some people in the field who genuinely care and want to help, but the overall process can still feel repetitive, impersonal, and emotionally exhausting — almost like it keeps people stuck in a cycle instead of helping them build real stepping stones toward improvement and independence…”
“I was on the teen side and My mom sent me and I was only there for a day because I lied about everything to get out but for the day I was there some nurses did actually care for us and acted as our moms when we didn’t have ours. I made some great friends but other than that that place was shit.”
“This place used to be AMAZING years ago. I remember the time before last I went and had a wonderful experience. This was in 2018 and several times before. I tried to go again February of 2024. The staff was SUPER rude and just looked like they hated their lives. You're working with people going through mental health issues, you need to have better decorum and be more pleasant. I signed myself out the next day. Not sure what's wrong with the mental health facilities in Wisconsin, but they all SUCK! This used to be the best one, until it wasn't. Also, I don't like how they have women on one unit and men on the other. I feel like you need to balance out it out with both genders in each unit. Too much estrogen in one place. But the staff now are very lazy and rude and just awful. One person tells you that you can do one thing and the next person says it's not allowed. Like, seriously!? I definitely would never go back here ever again unless they went back to how it used to be and got all new staff. I will say though, I did go to Meriter in Madison and enjoyed my stay there. Madison seems to be miles ahead, as far as mental health care.”
“I am grateful for the care I recently received. The nurses were amazing. Special thanks to Claire Eve and Patrick and tech Latoya. Dr Glasman was very compassionate and the groups were helpful. My only concern was the long wait to see the chaplin. It is reassuring to know help is available when there are so many concerns about health care options .”
