What patients say on Google

“I went here for therapy after my first semester of college since I have been dealing with depressive symptoms and struggled to maintain a balanced student life. I also previously have been diagnosed with Autism and put it on the record. When I described that I was having issues with going out to social events (public events or school clubs) because I was too tired after being done with class and had anxiety, I was told that I should push thru my fears and exhaustion. I later realized, on my own that, I was probably dealing Autistic burnout due to being on my own, dealing with school, and struggling to make new friends since I went to the same small school for my whole life. I ended up not going to social events because the process of meeting new people became so exhausting and often felt unrewarding. I was also later diagnosed with ADHD by a different psychologist. I hope that the Auburn Student Counseling better adapts to Autistic needs by being more understanding of the condition and providing opertunties to socialize with people also with Autism and dealing similar problems.”
