What patients say on Google

“I would not recommend this physical therapy clinic based on my experience. Before starting therapy, I specifically asked about the cost and was told each visit would have a $15 copay. Later, I was billed over $700 because everything was applied to my deductible instead. The first session was mostly an evaluation with very little actual therapy, yet I was billed for both an evaluation and a full session. The last visit consisted mostly of measurements and almost no real treatment. Throughout, I felt pressured by the therapist to keep scheduling more appointments even though I wasn’t seeing improvement. The staff were polite, but the cost information was misleading, and the care itself didn’t feel worthwhile, not even for $15 a visit, let alone hundreds of dollars. (Update) After posting my review, I called the number they provided to discuss the issue. I was forced to leave a message, and no one ever called me back. I’ve now received another $220 bill, bringing the total to $920. I’ve tried contacting my insurance company, the hospital, and the physical therapy department, but no one has been able to help or take responsibility for resolving this.”

“I went into the ER because of my blood pressure is reading at 256 over 109. I was put in a room . I wasn't given a blanket until someone came back much later . Dr. Erickson cam in and stood by the door/ sat on the counter. Asked me why I came in . I said I had a headache and a non productive / dry hacking cough . He said he didn't see why I came in and he would do a flu swab. He also sent in Tylenol for my headache . I saw no one for a while and since he told me that I had " nothing to worry about and no reason to stay I left . I didn't wait for the results. He accused me of not taking my meds and questioned whether I take them regularly twice. I was not asked history or anything. I felt as though I was trespassing. I'm looking into finding a different hospital to go to. Right now I would rather be on my death bed then go back there. Just because my insurance is medicade and Medicare doesn't mean I'm not human”

“Wondering which ER in Point to visit? Here's what you can expect if you go to Aspirius (old St. Michael's) instead of Aspirius Crossroads/Industrial Park (based on personal prior experience at Aspirius Crossroads/Industrial and my experience tonight at the old St. Mike's): PRO: you won't have to get ambulance transferred in the event of hospital admission or need for complex procedure or surgery, so one less bill and you won't be without a car upon discharge; you can literally walk out of your ER room and go on walkabout and not a single soul will know or see you. CON: you WILL have three times the wait time before anything even happens or you even see the ER doctor, even when there are no level 1 traumas, ambulances or such that arrive; you get to hear radiologists and ER doctors snipe at each other and argue if the ER doc disagrees with the radiology reading (this could also be a PRO as without any TV, magazines or other sources of distraction, if you forgot a book that argument may be your only entertainment while you wait); the beds are paper thin and incredibly uncomfortable (and if you don't know how to raise the head of an old school gurney your options will be to sit with 0 back support or lay like the dead); you will get left in a room with no nurse call light or monitors attached to you or anything for hours with no one checking in on you, advising where restrooms, seeing if you are still alive, seeing if your symptoms have gotten worse or if you need meds, CPR, water, tissues, etc. (3 hours I sat in an ER exam room before seeing anyone - see above on PRO regarding ability to meander without detection); they don't have a diverse spread of MRSA treating antibiotics for infection spreading to bone (not even in the Insty-Med machine), only the normal hitters, so if you have a lot of antibiotic allergies, you will get discharged without any antibiotic or pain management care and without any re-bandaging of the open wound, and told to go to the pharmacy when it opens the next business day. I give Apirius Stevens Point ER on Illinois Ave. a 1 star, only because there is no 0 star option.”
