What patients say on Google

“If I could give a zero I would. Not only was I a patient here, but a loved one of mine was. I understand that the staff has to work with a variety of people who may be more hostile, but if you are working with mental health patients, you should at least learn to read the room. I was asking for a counselor on site and they bluntly told me I won't get that there and I can speak with one of the staff if I really want. I said sure and I was already overwhelmed, even though my visit was voluntary. The worker that gave me the worst time and my loved one the worst time was nurse Isaac, who denied me saline for my fresh piercings, who told me that "my emotions don't matter right now," and told me to say less words when I speak because it's annoying (I was rambling because I was reporting to him that another patient in my room during quiet time threatened to harm me in my sleep). She was removed from my room, but I was shaking and was the youngest there during my visit. The staff has a plaque on the wall stating an interpreter can and will be provided to deaf or hard of hearing patients, and they did not even try to contact one for the patient who was deaf and autistic, whom they also strapped down in the seclusion room. My loved one has their patience tested with Isaac and his smart mouth, and it can be really infuriating when you go somewhere for help and are patronized and talked down to as if you're not human. I told him one morning that I wasn't feeling well and that I get dizzy in the mornings, and asked if there were extra graham crackers or something, and he firmly says "you eat breakfast in an hour. Sit down." I was, of course, nauseous and dizzy, so I sat back down because I did not want to be disrespectful, and I eventually got something in my stomach and felt better. Isaac also raised my prescription amount to double of what my primary care doctor had me on, and I was vomiting in the facility for three hours, and the nurse on site at night tried giving me liquid anti nausea knowing I just threw up, so a liquid on a sensitive stomach doesn't pair well. I told her I take Zofran and she ignored until I threw up in front of her. It was one of the most humiliating and traumatic nights, especially for my first time at a psych facility. The schedule set up on the wall seemed hopeful and helpful, with group counseling and many activities planned, and none were even brought up nor discussed, which ruined my trust with how the facility was run. If you are seeking help, do not send yourself or a loved one here unless they need intense treatment and being talked down to.There is a residential and rehab center in DeLand that seems to be promising and actually cares for their patients. When I tried calling to speak to my loved one, I had to call a good four or five times before anyone answered, and it was 20 minutes of calling before even a staff would redirect me. When I went for visitation, there was nobody working the front desk, and when my loved one's mom tried to put her fanny pack in the car after Isaac told her she couldn't have it, he left the lobby and didn't come back for TWENTY minutes, leaving her with less than half an hour to visit her child. The low management from the staff and the poor treatment really upset me and made me worry about my loved one, especially with their uncertainty of how long they were even planning to keep them. Again, this place may be beneficial for free medications, but there are other places that would definitely benefit people seeking mental help and rehabilitation better. Aspire staff during my entire stay told me to not worry about the pricing of my visit, yet I knew something was off because they were never clear. They couldve said it varied based on insurance, but all I was told was "that's not something to worry about, don't think about the money it's gonna be covered." It in fact was not. Even with insurance, I had to pay $2,500 for my 72 hour stay, and I wasn't even given the bill in the mail until two and a half months AFTER my visit.”

“They have come out today andI had a very poor experience with Aspire Co Counseling. My intake and scheduling process was repeatedly delayed over the course of months due to staff not showing up for scheduled intake appointments, which significantly postponed my ability to begin counseling care. When I was finally able to schedule an appointment, the therapist arrived approximately 20 minutes late. Prior to the session, I was provided incorrect contact information, and attempts to reach the provider were unsuccessful due to a non-functioning chat system and unanswered phone calls. When I requested the so farcorrect email address, the interaction ended abruptly. Overall, communication and coordination throughout the process were inconsistent, appointments were missed or delayed multiple times, and basic access to care was difficult to obtain. I ultimately did not receive reliable or timely counseling services. In response to your reply, I choose not to contact your business as every time I have it's been an unpleasant experience. Thank you for understanding that I wish to reduce my exposure to your problematic environment.”

“I have tried several days and different times of the day to reach anyone. I was left on hold 45 minutes to be disconnected. I have a patient in their care and to be unreachable delays patient care.”

“if i could leave 0 i would this place is disturbingly so terrible . My mother who’s literally mentally unstable was at this facility , transported from another hospital with out any of our family knowing to where we had to report her missing i just so happened to decide to call this place and was randomly just placed on the phone with her my brother was able to contact her aswell a week goes by and i call them to check in on her and now their not trying to give me any info until i started getting very upset and all they said was she was released would not tell me if she was transported or just walked out the door. insanely rude over the phone and have no care or regards to anyone meanwhile their a mental facility and you would think they would care about their patients and the family’s of these patients I WOULD 10000% ADVISE DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE HERE it’s honestly scary and seems like something out of a horror movie. i hope they get a evaluation check and this place gets defunded or completely new staff/owners THIS IS A SICK PLACE”
