“If you need proper care, go to Phoebe. This place has some true angels who are doing God’s work and genuinely care. However, a lot of neglect also goes on here. If you need more than medication, you will often be left to deal with it yourself. I have been physically abused here and have witnessed others being abused. Something as simple as someone walking into my room resulted in them being punched in the face by a staff member—repeatedly. Some security staff are really kind, while others seem to have something to prove. Heavy sexualization of women also occurs here. Everything gets brushed under the rug. Most people are just here for a paycheck—I understand that—but you should not take your frustrations out on vulnerable people who are in crisis and cannot always control what they do, think, or say. Even with all the abuse, I’ve met some incredible people here who made every difficult moment worth it. Please look at these patients as human beings, not just paychecks. They have a real chance at life and deserve to be treated with dignity and equality. Whether you believe in God or not, He is real and He is always watching. No good or bad deed goes unnoticed. I leave you with this: “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.””
“This establishment helped me. I'm seeing many negative reviews. There were many kind, gentle, and stable workers. I needed to be there. I was there for, I believe, 7 days before I had to take the next steps and get out. Outpatient services. Thank you for helping. Whoever they had with me were good. I did end up getting a shot, because they said I was being troublesome. It helped me to sleep, since I was paranoid most of the time. I wasn't on the right meds that they gave me. Even when I left I wasn't on the right meds. After I left to outpatient services I got on the right meds after a few months. That's the only problem I had. My doctor told me it was showing I wasn't on the right meds. Finally got on the right ones and I am not dealing with fight or flight and crazy paranoia. I was on this medicine in the past, but it made me look bloated according to family. I'm back on it, and although I am bigger, it helps. It helps with my mental health and I am no longer as depressed and schizophrenic anymore.”
“I ended up at Aspire and could not get out. I went willingly for my family to show them I was ok. The staff at front desk were very nice. They fed me supper. Small talk with the security guard which he said "you do not belong here". I agreed with him. I was just going to tough it out for 3 days. Until I see someone in handcuffs, hear someone hollering down the hall, other things you'd probably see in jail. I have never been in jail,no speeding ticket or anything. I have a clean record. I get stripped searched like a criminal. Because the PCP wrote that i was suicidal. I have never been suicidal a day in my life. I am 50 yrs old with no mental issues. Only ADD diagnosed in the 80's and going through Perimenopause. That was embarrassing because i am modest.I tried to get my police officer daughter to get me out. She couldn't I had to stay for 10 days instead of 3 days. Idk why. I was told I had to take the medicine or they would keep me longer. There was nothing to do. Choices were color with crayons or watch TV. No books. I couldn't even have my drawing book and pencil. There were some people in there talking to the wall, being a hypocondriac needing so.ething every 5 min, homeless lady. Bless her heart. But I felt like it was not ran in a positive manner to improve anyone. I laid on that hard bed that now my back has me where I can hardly walk some mornings. I wore the same clothes all 10 days that I went in wearing. I asked for pamphlet to understand when I could get my husband to bring me some clothes. I didn't get it till 3 days later. My husband was busy at work during peanut season. He'd have to drive 3 hrs.He would not be able to make it before cut off time. There is no therapy sessions. The only time you sit to talk is at a table of 5 or more Aspire associates every 3 days.Being questioned on how I feel. That's the evaluation. No one on one therapy session to grasp why I am there,my life,my mental state,my family. Nothing!! No treatment or counseling. Just JAIL!!! This facility is NOT a good place to be. It made me worse and I have PTSD. This was a year ago,August 2024 and I still haven't gotten over this place. It's not where you want your loved ones to go. No compassion or care. You are $$$$ to them!!! Plus they misplaced some of my personal items. I did not receive all I went in with from there office.”
“My Complaints are the long 2 hours hold they have you on long hold times just to make an appointment or cancel one. Than they say Press 0 for call back No one ever calls back or pick up the phone. As soon as your family miss an appointment they won't allow them to come in to see thier doctor get no medication unless they come in at 7-7:30 as a walk in. Unacceptable! That's the reason people can't call to make an appointment or cancel because the wait time is so long over the phone and when you come in as well. Please do better. People love ones mental health is at risk and it's a serious problem when you called to make an appointment and can't get any one because phone going to voicemail or noone wont answer the phone. Also the wait time is soooooo long 2 to 3 hours This is Ridiculous :(”
