What patients say on Google

“My experience at Arms Acres in Carmel, NY was nothing short of life-changing. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with empathy, compassion, dignity, and genuine care. The structured daily routine, self-help groups, and one-on-one counseling sessions provided me with the tools and support I needed on my recovery journey. A special thank you to Margarita and Bob for their guidance and encouragement. I also want to recognize Daisy bobs emotional support dog love you Isabella, and Heather, who consistently went above and beyond, often staying late and always making themselves available to help whenever needed. To Maureen who sat with me and spoke about how irish we are and helped me speak on the loss of my brother and father and the entire mealu staff, Taylor, Mrs. Lisa, Kristin, Corina, and Bridgette—thank you for your kindness and dedication. To Joe and Donna in Detox, thank you for helping me through one of the most difficult parts of my journey with patience and compassion. Denise, thank you for taking the time to sit with me and offer support when I needed it most. I am also grateful to the security joe keith ravonne genise staff, kitchen staff, nursing staff, and every employee who helped make my stay such a positive experience. The recreation program, gym, pool, and equine therapy were incredible additions to my recovery and healing process. Every person I encountered at Arms Acres played a role in helping me find hope, strength, and a renewed sense of purpose. “During their admissions process, they send home the spouse/driver, only to be called back a couple hours later that admission was denied for medical reasons. First off, you couldn't figure that out in the pre-admissions paperwork and questions and secondly, why not just have the spouse/driver stay there until we know all is a go? It isn't that hard people - think about your customer and their support system! Instead I waste 4 hours driving back and forth. When I try to give the middle-aged black woman at the admissions desk ~ 2pm today some respectful advice on these logistics, she gives me, I kid you not, lip back about how that's not my problem. I then did my best to courteously ask to have the feedback given to management as it was intended and she looks cross-eyed at me and I'm sure it will go NOWHERE. For a place of recovery and healing, it was the exact damn opposite. If I could give ZERO stars I would :(”

“I went here for inpatient rehab, ended up with a horrible toothache. My face was swollen, I had a fever and I was in so much pain. They put me on antibiotics and gave me oral gel. The oral gel and tylenol didn't give me relief. The 3rd night I was there, I went to the ER via cab alone. Staff was aware. The doctor changed the antibiotics and wrote a note saying I had to get the tooth removed as soon as possible. By this time even my neck was starting to swell up. The staff at Arms Acres refused to take me to a dentist, despite how many times I politely asked them for help. I live in Staten Island, NY, which is about a 2 hour ride from there. They told me that they would not take me to a dentist, but they would drive for 2 hours to take me home. I went here to get clean, but I had to leave because they refused to take me to a dentist. This is clearly neglect on their part. This incident tells you what lousy care you will receive there. It never crossed their minds that I was at this facility to receive treatment for my addiction. Find another place to go, they do not take recovery seriously!!”
