What patients say on Google
“My son had an appointment scheduled for the 23rd. We've been waiting months for this appointment. They called me the 22nd to reschedule. Honestly, I expected that with the forecasted weather. I assumed a reschedule, due to them cancelling, would put us a week or two out....but then I was informed the first available appointment was months away. So, effectively we were put all the way at the back of the que. I pointed out we'd already been waiting months for this appointment, dealing with behavioral issues, and that we weren't the ones canceling. I was told they would try to make a "special exception" (like what? Again, I'm not the one who cancelled) to get him in sooner. That was almost two weeks ago. Crickets.”
“We initially had high hopes for our son’s therapist, Shiela Camp, who pulled him out of class at Lake Hamilton Primary School for sessions we thought would be beneficial. Unfortunately, our experience left us very disappointed. Shiela stopped communicating with my husband, canceled a scheduled meeting to discuss our son’s behavior and progress, and did not respond to repeated attempts to reach her. Over the course of three months, our son continued weekly sessions without our knowledge, leaving us unable to support him or track his progress. When we finally contacted Janice Smithpeters, the CEO, the explanation provided was minimal, and shortly after, our son was removed from services without notice from ACAP. This experience has affected our trust in ACAP’s ability to provide transparent, professional care. Clear communication and regular updates would have made a significant difference in our experience. Our review reflects our experience with the professional services provided, and our hope is that future families do not face the same challenges.”
“Ms. Toni McMahan is an excellent counselor; I already feel better. She truly cares, and the staff is very friendly. ❣️”
“I have been going to this center for over 2 years. Due to insurance I have had 4 counselors, I have an excellent connection with my current counselor. I have had chronic mental health issues for over 40 years so finding someone you can connect with and receive care through can be challenging.”
