How likely are you to recommend Apogee Behavioral Medicine - Mount Airy?
What patients say on Google
“If I could I would be giving this place a 0. 1. I made appointments almost 1 months out. On day of my app. I see a NP have a counseling session then after about 45 mins. She asks if I want to be put on meds for anxiety and depression. I say no she she proceeded to tell me that she has to refer me to another clinic because all they do at Apogee is give meds. 2. I confirmed my daughter's appointment and the lady informs me that they dont see anyone younger than 16. This information was never given to me on the phone when I called to make an appointment. It would of been nice to be told this prior to the appointment so I could of called elsewhere. 3. They charged my debit card $260 without my consent even though I filed my insurance. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. Oh and they charge $600 a visit.”
“Robin is down to earth. Makes sure that client have their medicine and is genuinely concerned about her patients.”
“All they did was throw me in weekly group therapy even though it was inconvenient for me to participate and refused to give me the workbook so I could progress on my own.”
“Like the saying goes, “It’s not how we start but how we finish.” That’s exactly what happened with Renee Guertin. And oh boy did this end! In the later stages of relying on her services I found Renee to lack transparency. There’s been no humility or compassion, I feel. When times get rough Renee gets going. Her voice is robotic and seems programmed, with a heart that feels like a block of ice when times leaves patients the most vulnerable. Until facing questions new language came into play such as “my supervisor.” Attempts to gain clarity on some of her actions Renee could not stand on her own. Instead of taking accountability, believe it or not - time after time, she threw responsibility onto her patient. Professionally speaking, previously perceived innocence turned into red flags for our family. When pressure became too intense she decided to discontinue care. Honestly, this was the best idea because I had lost confidence in having her on the medical team. We she told us confidentiality had been breached by another office/professional, I thought so highly of her ability /willingness to advocate. Then, she came up with new ideas and plans. Did she get freaked out for leaking valuable information? Don’t know. However, for us, the rat hole became much deeper and darker. Small town services will forever be viewed in a different light for me. Make sure research is conducted properly to receive a curated diagnosis. Follow your gut with medical treatment. When you feel a particular med is necessary- don’t let up. I knew all of the things but time after time, my words and concerns went unmet. Another doctor disagreed with the current prescription and concerns went unheard. For some reason, the wrong medication is no big deal. That’s awful. Just awful. All individuals deserve the best care but POC even more. Our voices shout but at times fall on deaf ears. I do mean DEAF. One more thing. Apogee has a portal where medical teams “share” information. This means they already have most information you’re about to share. Really made me feel like an idiot not knowing this upfront. Renee at least, finds not sharing this information with her patients/families anything important. Choose well people and remain vigilant.”
