“Brianna was wonderful and the 3 other ladies that were there on the afternoon of Saturday March 21st 2026. However the lady we initially spoke with in the phone, "Angie S." was rude and hostile and quite honestly should not be working there. All we wanted to do was ger help for my brother and she flat out lied to us and said that they would not take him unless he was refered there by an the emergency room doctor. Then she said that they would only take him if he is depress or suicidal (he is autistic and bipolar). Lastly she said there were no beds availible and they could not take him. She gave every excuse in the book why he couldn't be helped. She became argumentative, the more questions I would ask. Finally she told me that she couldn't go back and forth all day answering my questions and I wish I could remember the snide hateful comment she made, but after that she just hung up abruptly. I hope Altapointe record phone calls because if someone were to listen to this phone call they would understand exactly what I am explaining. I had a feeling that I should call back and ask to speak to a supervisor or a Doctor so I did. Brianna answered the phone and was sweet, polite and so very helpful. She said if we could get him to come then they could admit him. They did and he stayed overnight and was seen by the doctor in the morning and he adjusted his meds. Angie S. was not there when my brother was admitted but the ladies that were there were awesome. They made us feel at ease that my brother would be taken care of because they were there to help. When we got to the crisis center initially most of the nurses and doctor were getting ready to go home for the day. I believe Angie S. was at the end of her shift and did not want to deal with anymore patients and she took her frustrations out on us. This IS NOT okay especially when you are working with people in crisis seeking help. I hope this gets addressed with her so she doesn't think that its okay to treat people this way in the future.”

“I posted a review some years back after getting clean and like a said before if not for alterpointe and all those awesome people working there to save lives I would of surely died years ago . But going there now is like going and visiting my family . The wonderful receptionists Jennifer and crew and dr brooks ms cheri and so many who played a part in giving me back my life. If you need help you will not find a better more professional place . Thank you all as 5 years have came and went ,you can do it they want to help you ,let them save your life like they did mine”

“As a former patient back when I was 17, it was terrible. Staff were physically aggressive with me and other patients. I was physically slammed multiple times and sedated with shots. I’ve watched others get worse treatment. I’ve even seen staff members throw hands at 14 year olds. It’s not a place you want to send your kids and I wish it was something that couldn’t be court ordered. It’s truly an evil place.”

“Someone should sue the crisis center and who runs it in Sylacauga for spreading false information and slandering people’s name into the ground when they do not know them or anything about them. If you truly need someone please call a helpline or go to the er. I pray no one ever has to go through anything that involves this certain crisis line or being sent to the hospital of their choice which is Gadsden Regional. I am all for seeking help but avoid this one place in particular.”
